I think teams should be pentalized for deliberately resting their starters. They have to go back three spots in the draft or something.

they layed down. Undefeated is to big for them. They arent the Patriots by any stretch of the imagination.
Gutless coach, gutless VP = gutless football team. No other way to spin it really. Look at the teams faces. This team is not going to the Superbowl now. |

If your going to rest players, better to do it as an away team than home team since your basically making your fans pissed off at the team (unless its last game of the season and it happens to be a home game in the NFL).

This decade can be summed up pretty much like this. The difference between New England and Indianapolis... New England has balls.

Wow, fucking terrible game to go to. I used to have a great track record at Giants games...now, I think my record is around .500
While I can never actually root for the Cowboys, I wouldn't be sad at all if they won tonight and officially ended the Giants' season. They would clearly be a one-and-done team and just screw themselves out of a higher draft selection if they somehow got in anyway. Sheridan and Gilbride both HAVE to be gone next year. I kinda have a feeling Gilbride is gonna wind up staying though and they'll use Eli's career year as justification despite the fact that a shitload of his yards came in games where the Giants were routed and the opposing D started coasting. Three games...Arizona, San Diego, and Philly 2 weeks ago. All three of those games were lost on a couple of mistakes/bad calls/whatever and they should have all easily been wins. They win those, and they are already locked into the playoffs. As such, they are gonna probably finish at 8-8 and have a lot of work to do, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. The offense has the necessary talent, just shitty playcalling. Appropriate way to wrap up the 2009 calendar year...an absolutely terrible year in sports for me across the board. |

RP, I would of sat Manning as well. Jets have one of the best D's in the league and you don't want some bullshit injury happening to Manning. They've clinched what they needed to

All the Ravens need to do is win @ Oakland and they're in as the 5th Seed Wild Card and play the Bengals no matter what anyone else does.

Ugh @ the Colts
Peyton Manning doesn't get injured. He will never be injured in his life. Feel angry that they just "gave up" and kinda lost on purpose. Makes the win also feel really hollow, but whatever. What a fucking stupid thing. Feels like they are all going to go into a downward spiral now instead of being ultra confident. They are going to feel like they are awful and the only reason they are good is because of Peyton Manning, which is probably true but now a bunch of players are probably all doubting themselves. I think Sheridan makes a lot of retarded coverage calls tbh. Nothing like having Michael Boley covering DeSean Jackson at some points the other week. |

According to the NFL, Denver is currently the 5th seed due to tiebreakers between NYJ/DEN/BAL with the Jets at the 6th.

OK, so it looks like the Yahoo playoff scenario generator is broken - they have the Jets NOT making it in with a win next week unless PIT, HOU, and DEN all lose.

Yeah I was using that before, but I don't think it takes into account tiebreakers past conference record, and a Jets/Broncos/Ravens tie would go to the next step, common opponents

Not overly disappointed. Obviously wanted a 16-0 season, but it wasn't like the "Jets beat the Colts". It was more like the "Jets beat the Colts' third string", or at least that was how it felt. Manning obviously wanted to play, but oh well.
Definitely not feeling all this hatred toward Caldwell. He showed that he was telling the truth all along - They did not care about stats or records. Only about winning the Super Bowl. I am disappointed with the loss, sure. But to me it just solidified their post-season. It shows that they are looking forward. |

I hope the Steelers get in and go into New england . And Ravens /Bengals..
I think Packers will upset any team they play in the 1st round even the Eagles. Cowboys HAVE to get ovet the hump sometime too, but not sure this year not with that fat humpty as their coach. |

Also, the postgame report had Manning saying they had discussed it before the game, and he was aware that the decision might be made during the game.

And it's pretty much a lock it'll be Cowboys/Eagles and Packers/Cards.
Should be interesting to see what happens in the Philly/Dallas game next week . If the cowboys win that means they will sweep the Eagles and will have to beat them yet AGAIN. Kinda hard to see them beating the Eagles 3 straight in a season ![]() But if they lose then they go into hostile Philly for the playoff game.Damn gonna be tough ![]() |

@Assman - I have said a few times this season that I just got into football.
I always hated sports, but after watching the tail end of last season I started to get into it. Don't consider myself a 'bandwagon jumper' because I did not just suddenly decide mid-season that I liked the Colts. It was a conscious decision before the pre-season even started. DS and I made the decision to look at some football teams we might be interested in following based on their players and what we liked about them. My experience with football has pretty much been restricted to Super Bowls and random highlights here and there, so I really didn't know much about it at the time, or anything about records or stats. The Colts were one of the few teams he and I both agreed we liked and would enjoy watching. We liked their players, the way they played, and figured that with them getting a new coach this season it would be a good time to start following them. It just so happened that our decision was solidified by an amazing performance this season. El Fregadero was the Jaguars fan. He was from Jacksonville. That was actually the main reason for my disliking of the Jaguars. More or less 'rivalry' between friends. Pretty much became obsessed with football building up to the start of the season, to where I was always reading about it. Now I can't get enough. Really "Have to start somewhere", and I would still be a Colts fan even if they had not done so spectacular this season. Don't consider myself a bandwagon jumper because I am not someone who only liked the Colts because they didn't lose, and I will not suddenly stop being a Colts fan if they do bad. If they go one and done in the playoffs, I will be pretty disappointed, but I will be here cheering for them next season all the same. |

Like, my family has never been into football, and my dad has never really followed a team. He pretty much just roots for whatever team he thinks should win in whatever game is going on. I am from California, but I live in MO, so I never felt an 'obligation' to be a Chiefs fan. My friends are mostly Chiefs fans, and I just never felt like I had to pick a team based on where I lived, or whatever.
