Charlotte loses the belt to Becky clean.
Gets a mandatory rematch which ends in a DQ finish. OK fine, she should get another match.
Next match ends in a double countout. Alright, one more match still makes sense.
Then she loses clean as a whistle in a Last Woman Standing match.

That should have been the end of it. There's no storyline justification why she should've gotten another title match. And yet there she was getting another title opportunity at TLC, which she also lost. And then she loses the Rumble to cap it all off. Yet now she's headlining Mania.

No wonder it feels forced. It's like she's obtained Batista's unlimited title match cheat code from 2007.

I don't really object to Charlotte being wedged into the match from a quality perspective. Most of the Charlotte/Becky matches have been great to incredible, and Ronda has done phenomenally well in a match that's been put together--and both Charlotte and Becky should be able to lead a match. Both the Charlotte/Becky and Becky/Ronda feuds have been pretty hot from a crowd reaction standpoint, so I would imagine that those intersecting should also be hot.

But it once again feels like WWE getting too complicated for their own good. You've got an angle that without any other factors is arguably hot enough to main event the whole show, but they've got to overcomplicate it and make it happen in the laziest way possible.

Like "Everything's good? No. Fuck you." is not the best way to go about this. If they had Charlotte whine and complain about losing the Rumble to someone not even in it and then have Vince come out and add her to the match and then reveal that he was indeed trying to make her the Corporate Champion or whatever would be fine, maybe even great. Instead they went with "Make Becky apologize after being unreasonable and then fuck it, she's out. SURPRISE."

I've said it before, but it's appropriate once again: This company would book eight connecting flights to get across the street for a fucking cup of coffee.

I think the reason they're putting Charlotte in this match is because they dont want Ronda being boo'ed. So they put someone else in the match that they know will get boo'ed and Ronda can still look like the babyface. Also they probably dont want Ronda to take the pin. It's total bullshit.

The whole Becky apology stuff was kind of dumb. I could understand if the McMahon's had really wronged her but they didn't. If Becky actually didn't have anything to be sorry about then it would have made some sense. Just a lazy way to throw Charlotte into the match which nobody wants.

It was dumb. The "you're out...you're in" thing was b.s. lazy to the highest degree.

I really thought they were gonna do this with the apology thing.... Becky says "I'm sorry." Pause. "Yeah, I'm sorry.... I'm sorry I didn't punch you harder and I'm sorry I didn't kick you in the nuts too." Thought that was a better way to take her out of the match and put the "runner-up from the rumble" in. Then they could have had Becky earn her way back in at Fastlane to get to the triple threat.

Either way, I think it will be a decent match to watch, but will TOTALLY SUCK AS THE FINAL MATCH OF WRESTLEMANIA. So glad I didn't waste my money on a ticket. A woman's match should not close this show. Period. They are good, but not great and Ronda is inexperienced in the business to make it a 5 star match.

Seems you can blame Ronda's break after Mania as the official reason why WWE finally added Charlotte into the RAW Women's title match at Mania.

According to Fightful, Ronda currently isn't expected to be back from her break till Survivor Series at the earliest. Pretty much handicaps WWE's post-Mania plans and they were not fond of letting one half of their potential first ever women's Mania main event bolt after Mania. Deflates any big benefits WWE would get from that historic moment and makes Ronda look like she only cared about the spotlight and having a top Mania spot.

Honestly, I think adding Charlotte makes the most sense from a keeping your promise to her perspective. If she feels slightly wronged, and let’s be honest, shit booking led to Becky’s groundswell, then maybe she walks out when her contract ends? This seems to be a keep all plates spinning kind of thing, which can be a reality of the business, but should never be how you book.

I’m not mad about Charlotte being in. She’s getting heat and she’s being portrayed as the golden child she is. This is going to be fine and has a thread of a story with a heel you hate and a baby face you adore. It’s just...not as pure as it could be. They had a thing with this Becky stuff, and if you just run with it, fans’ hope might finally turn into faith. But they’ve sacrificed this anticipated main event between two top women for a three-way that is happening...because. They’re pouring too much milk into the coffee and can’t help but give their fans reasons to be cautious about investing emotionally. They just can’t help but mercilessly fuck with and cut off their babyfaces.

This would be like if WrestleMania XIV got turned into a Triple Threat with either HHH or Rock in there. Why can’t we just have a babyface win the Rumble and go on to face the person everyone wants to lose in a one-on-one match? Keep it simple, stupid.

Charlotte could have done a million things. She could have worked Asuka again. There’s Natalya, who has been portrayed as Ronda’s buddy. Do the Takeover match years later with the two-time Hall of Famers in their corners with personal pride and the momentum of their camps on the line. Shayna could have come up. Charlotte can still have an anticipated position on the card and Becky getting this shot could always be played up for tension later.

She doesn't though, she is on Smackdown, there is literally zero reason for her to fight for the Raw title just because Becky won the Rumble and chose Ronda.
