Not only did Chuck Taylor actually Great Bash Henare with a dozen chairs and punch his own tag partner in the mouth yesterday, he has now handed season 1 winner Yuji Nagata his first pinfall / submission loss in Japan since August 2017. I feel redeemed.

Yeah he usually works the undercard tag matches, he's just not booked on this tour since he was part of the Junior Heavyweight Tag League, which finished just before this one started. He will probably be back for the Tokyo Dome shows.

Final two cards of the year have been revealed:
Road to TOKYO DOME Friday 14th December KUSHIDA / Tiger Mask / Liger / Honma vs Young Lions (Yoshida / Narita / Uemura) & Henare Shota Umino vs Shingo Takagi CHAOS (Goto / Rocky) vs Suzuki-Gunfist (Suzuki / Iizuka) CHAOS (SHO / YOH / Ishii) vs Suzuki-Gun (Taichi / Despy / Kanemaru) Los Ingobernables de Japon (Naito / EVIL / SANADA / Bushi) vs Bullet Club (BONER / Tonga / Loa / Fale) Kazuchika Okada vs Gedo TOTAL CHAOS (Tanahashi / Makabe / Yano / Ospreay) vs The Elite (Omega / Ibushi / Yujiro / Chase) Road to TOKYO DOME Saturday 15th December Young Lion Kanemitsu's Miraculous Comeback Match (lol but he's jobbing) Ren Narita & Teruaki Kanemitsu vs Shota Umino & Ayato Yoshida Henare / Tiger / Liger vs Roppongi 3k (SHO / YOH / Rocky) CHAOS (Ishii / Goto) vs Suzuki-Gunfist (Suzuki / Iiizuka) Spooky Cool Hunks (EVIL & SANADA) vs BULLITE CLUB!? (Yujiro & Chase Owens) LIJ (Naito / BUSHI / Shingo) vs Suzuki-Gun (Taichi / Despy / Kanemaru) TOTAL CHAOS (Okada / Yano / KUSHIDA / Makabe / Honma) vs Bullet Club (Fale / Tonga / Loa / BONER / Gedo) TOTAL CHAOS (Tanahashi & Ospreay) vs Golden Lovers (Omega & Ibushi) The big plot points here are that CHAOS and the unaffiliated babyfaces continue to team together too fight both Bullet Club factions, the biggest deal is that Makabe has joined in and is teaming with Toru Yano. Yano brutally betrayed Makabe and gutted his stable (GBH) to originally form CHAOS with Shinsuke Nakamura, only Honma remained loyal to Makabe and the pair have hated CHAOS ever since it's inception. Obvious signs point to a Six Man tag title run for Makabe, Honma and Yano with a potential Henare heel turn in the works. Swerves could come from anywhere though on this one. Also Okada gets his hands on Gedo with no Knife Pervert in sight. RIP Gedo. Tiger Mask & Liger are the only "new" names to appear, so Sixx should be pleased. Sadly no Chris Sabin. |

Suzuki is a super heel, he is a former MMA guy (founded Pancrase actually and legit beat young Ken Shamrock) who is pretty much a sadistic mob boss with a bunch of goons under his command. Likes torturing people and beating up the young boys for fun. His stable is usually always on the tours because they are the undercard heels.

He had a Devil fruit from One Piece shaved into his head because he is a huge One Piece nerd in real life and I guess everyone is too scared of him to tell him otherwise. He lost a hair vs hair match last year though and now he just has random lines shaved out.
Rich Swann has copied his hairstyle for some reason and actually just looks hilarious. |

Shows are done for the rest of the year now so we have reached the timed elimination cut off date. As a result we are down to the top ten (of 13 ). Adamle, Sixx and Jordan X are the only players with both guys still in. Some big names WILL be eliminated at Wrestle Kingdom, smaller names probably safe for now. Maybe.

Updated for WK.
We are down to the top ten, with seven players still in the game. Sixx, adamle and Jordan X have both wrestlers still alive as we enter the uncharted territory of New Years Dash tomorrow. Potential danger for Makabe as a betrayal from either Yano or Henare seems imminent. Tananashi is also going to be a target for his next challenger, as is Juice Robinson. Is Zack Sabre Jr going to make a move and attempt to usurp Suzuki? Where does Knife Pervert get his next high risk thrill? Find out for free on New Japan world! |

Oh man, Makabe elimated because the Bullet Club jobbers came back. Not even a cool betrayal. JOBBERS.
Thanks Gedo. Everyone else is safe for now, HOWEVER, Marty Scurll is now factionless since The Elite have disbanded so he appears to on borrowed time. A couple of head to heads coming up as Beretta / Juice and Knife Pervert / Tanahashi are new feuds. Of course anyone could miss the next tour and get timed out so I will post the cards when they become available. |

From 11th - 21st January, New Japan are running their annual tour with CMLL "Fantastica Mania". Not as many actual New Japan wrestlers are on the shows
Only guys on the tour still in the game are Liger and NPC Shingo Takagi. However, there is a special match on the 21st featuring Hiroshi Tanahashi to promote his movie "My Dad Is A Heel Wrestler" where he will be performing as Gokiburi Mask (Cockroach Mask) alongside Taguchi as Ginbae Mask (Fly Mask) to take on the wonderfully named babyface team of SweetGorilla Maruyama (Makabe) and Dragon George (Okada). Will he get pinned? Absolutely not. Road to New Beginning starts on 26th Jan and the first leg runs to 30th Jan, no cards announced yet. On 30th Jan and 1st Feb are two US specials, cards not announced, but whoever is working these dates are not going to be on the first leg of the tour or the first two main cards, which are... Beretta vs Juice for the US title expected to be main eventing one of those US shows too. Pretty good chance Scurll shows up there also in some capacity. So that should be everyone still fighting.

Another date has also been added to US leg of the tour on 2nd Feb due to the first two dates selling out. Looking at the roster available it looks like these matches are likely:
US Title Juice vs Beretta Ultimate Deathmatch Chuck vs Finlay ROH TV Title Cobb vs Goto Ishii vs Nagata Roppongi 3k vs KES Also unaccounted for: Liger, Tiger Mask, Kojima, Rocky Romero, Marty Scurll, Iizuka, TAKA Michinoku. Pretty thin touring roster really so I'd expect ROH based support too from the likes of Sabin, ACH, Flop Gordo, Jay Lethal, maybe PCO, Bandido, Dalton Castle, Briscoes, did I miss anyone of note? I don't know. If Kenny hasn't actually left (even if he is actually going to leave, his contract is rumoured to last until the end of the month) then there could be some Golden Lovers appearances, but that's a total shot in the dark. |

Cards for the US New Beginning shows were released today, and well, uh, they are not good.
Due to the US Government Lockdown, New Japan were unable to secure visas for any of their talent. That means Goto, Ishii, Nagata, SHO & YOH, Liger, Tiger & Kojima are not going to be there. Ibushi was never booked. On top of that, Sabin & Flip Gordon are both injured, ACH has apparently signed with WWE and is finishing his dates, Ospreay is currently touring with the truly abysmal WOS, Omega and The Elite were likely supposed to be a big part of it but have all left for AEW. So that leaves the only New Japan regulars as Juice Robinson, Beretta, Chuck Taylor, David Finlay and Rocky Romero. Semi-regular Marty Scurll is also there, but without a faction to rep and no other Jr Heavyweights available he's just being used as card filler. Probably doesn't help that he will likely be gone before Best of the Super Jrs. California Dojo Young Lions and ROH midcarders are pretty much the entire undercard. Night 1 is headlined by Chuck Taylor vs David Finlay, Night 2 is US title match between Beretta & Juice Robinson, while Night 3 sees Best Roppongi Friends take on Juice Robinson, Finlay and some other dude. They are a faction in ROH apparently. If you're a fan of Best Friends doing the job to Juice and, unfortunately, Finlay you're in for a treat because there are three in a row right here. Yikes. |

Apparently they applied for the visas back in November and still didn't have sufficient time to get them before the shutdown.
When you consider that there are already hundreds of people backlogged in getting their visas and that'll only get worse the longer this goes, and there being no end to the shutdown in sight...….I think the G1 Supercard at MSG is in serious jeopardy along with the DDT and Stardom shows that weekend. |

Oh yeah I forgot, Cobb is there too working filler. He was meant to face Goto but this is the second time their TV title match has been nixed, last time Cobb had his flight cancelled.
Also I forgot KES are still working the shows, they were meant to face SHO and YOH but now they are against Marty and his friend, Davey is working a singles... Haven't these poor fans suffered enough? |

In another shocking twist, the US shows do not appear to be part of New Japan World, therefore they are not cannon. Beretta and Chuckie T are apparently done after this weekend. Scurll and Juice will not refresh their timer and look to be in borrowed time.
However the Japanese show on 30th Jan WAS added to New Japan World and SHOCKINGLY the BONER SOLDIER tapped out to famous arse wrestler "Funky Weapon" Rysuke Taguchi. Also there was a multi-man elimination match on Jan 28th featuring Suzuki, Sabre, Shingo and Desperado. Somehow none of them were pinned or submitted. What a wild ride. |

Here's the card. Tenzan / Tsuji vs Shota / Yoshida YOSHI-HASHI vs Ren Narita Henare / Honma vs Bullet Club (Chase / Yujiro) LIJ (EVIL / SANADA / BUSHI) vs Suzuki-Gun (Suzuki / Despy / Kanemaru) LIJ (Naito / Shingo) vs Suzuki-Gun (TAKA / Taichi) HIGHLY DANGEROUS ELIMATION MATCH (Don't worry, over the top rope counts) TOTAL CHAOS (Okada / Tanahashi / Makabe / Yano / Taguchi) vs Bullet Club (Knife Perv / Fale / Tonga / Loa / BONER) |

Tanahashi, Zack Sabre Jr and Suzuki all took losses over the past two days blowing this all wide open. So this leaves us with a potential end game as the New Beginning tour wraps up, here's what we know:
Two shows left on 9th and 11th of Feb. Marty Scurll (Jordan X) WILL be 6 week'd on 15th February. Juice Robinson (Jordan X) and Beretta (Simple Fan) WILL be 6 week'd on 16th February. They both last wrestled AGAINST each other, though Jordan would get the advantage for Marty placing higher Tama Tonga. That means Simple Fan cannot win, but he can repeat the first season tie if everyone else gets eliminated on these shows. This leaves three other wrestlers still in active competition: Bad Luck Fale (Gertner), Knife Pervert (mike adamle) and Jushin Liger (Sixx). Fale and White both have rather massive obstacles to overcome, first the elimination match (where as protected acts they SHOULD be safe from a pin or submission elimination, but you never know) and then singles matches against Okada and Tanahashi respectively, but it's anyone's guess who is coming out of here alive. Meanwhile, all Liger has to do is not get pinned in a six man tag against Suzuki and his two most pinnable goons, TAKA Michinoku and Takashi Iizuka. While Liger is arguably the most pinnable guy on his own team, Tenzan and especially Kojima are not averse to eating pins like they were made of freshly baked bread. Iizuka also has a knack for getting disqualified. This one could go absolutely anywhere. |
