Might as well make this, seeing as how we have our first trailer.

It's going to be a daunting task to be better than Oblivion. Are they going to be able to pull it off?

I'll grab this when it appears in some sales. Not saying it's not going to amazing, but I don't trust Bethesda to make it playable at launch anymore so I may as well save a few quid and wait.

I'm with Hasney. Gonna wait for the bugs to get patched out.
Might be awhile, still waiting for New Vegas to stop freezing every 11.5 seconds. Wonder when that patch will happen. |

Probably because you're on PS3 Seph?
I've had no problems with 360 version since the update. And I will be pre ordering Skyrim. |

The PC version works, sometimes. Still can't do all the bloody quests on the 360 though.

Congratulations, Bethesda Notable 4:20 PM on 02.08.2011 | Jim Sterling 72
After looking at the new screens, I see you've finally been able to make a female face that isn't scraped from the scum left in the bathtub of my most putrid, horrific, mortifying nightmares. I have a feeling that Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is gonna be aaaaaalright! |

So there has never been a dragon in an elder scolls game? That seems odd.

Feel kind of burnt out on this engine, so unless they do a lot of big improvements, I'll probably bargain bin it at best. Not asking for a total revamp, mind you, I just don't really want to play the same game again.
Fantasy settings have never really been my bag. A fantasy game has to be really good for me to like it. So far the only ones I've played all the way through are the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale games, and Dragon Age. So I guess only Bioware stuff. Cause I'm fairly certain the people in Bioware are many of the same people who did the forgotten realms games. Still need to try out Neverwinter Nights. |

Awesome. Also, Dmac I wasn't talking about the graphics. It's obvious that there have been improvements in that area.

Nah, they added a bunch of new shit. BTW, the engine is mostly new. Check out the wiki page to see details about some of the stuff coming, unless you have a subscription to OXM.

Yep. And by defeating them you "obtain their souls" which allows you to learn spells, which is badass. I also love that the Mages' Guild and Thieves' Guild and possibly Fighters' Guild will still be in.

There's a video on Gametrailers where they were talking with a dev and there was a giant there, minding his own business at that point and a dragon came down and FUCKED UP HIS DAY. Was beautiful

Elder Scrolls has never been my bag (mainly because first-person melee combat always felt clunky and awkward), but holy crap, this looks like a truly impressive game. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get this, especially since I'll be using a PC that isn't worthless by the time it comes out.

I'm totally getting this, as long as it doesn't have the lame "monsters scale to your level" thing Oblivion had.

According to an ign article somewhere, when you enter a dungeon/cave/mine/whatever the monsters are locked to whatever level you are at when you first enter the cave/etc.
Going through Oblivion rn and I don't mind the monster levelling too much. I mean I had to do a ruin which had a big room with 4 Lichs in it. Let me tell you how much it sucks to to get spotted and then jumped by Lichs with different staves: My armour got disintigrated, my strength got destroyed (paralyzing me in the processs) I got zombies all over me and I had my magika damaged almost completely. I came so close to eating it that I was practically dripping with adrenaline. Crazy battle. |

This looks pretty good. I would love to see an Oblivion game with the Demon's Souls combat system, maybe without the complete bastard difficulty.

Bethesda revealed the contents of the collector's edition with the price being $149.99 for the set.

http://gamingeverything.com/?p=7181 Also related was how the director for the game feels the gaming industry should be lowering standard game prices to a more friendly $29 range since he feels more people are willing to buy and try out more games than being hesitant at the higher $60 price tag. Although he ended up being a bit of a hypocrite after rejecting any idea of the Elder Scrolls series or Skyrim being lowered to his ideal price range. http://kotaku.com/5827898/skyrim-chi...but-not-skyrim |

New stuff and info shown during QuakeCon reveals there will not be any spell making possible for Mages, better pickpocketing and abilities for Thieves, and more depth and variety for in-game characters and options.
