Worried about xrod’s wellbeing if he doesn’t have Phil in his life. It’s gonna trigger his boiling tatters something fierce.

MJF coming out Wednesday and claiming that Punk quit/got himself fired to avoid him will be glorious.

No, it won’t, lol. Reminding people that your top guy has left makes you look second rate whatever way you cut the cheese. This is not a good thing for AEW. It’s a shitshow.

Punk’s one of the few guys MJF probably wanted to work with. This is going to stir up so many unhappy feelings with the direction of this product.

Serious question, did anybody see 2022 going this great for Ryback?

Jeff Jarrett's gonna take over AEW. Heard it from very reputable sources.*

Rumor mill says WBD is not amused. Punk expected to be gone and the EVPs will lose those roles.

I believe that is what Disco Inferno’s mindset about what a wrestler should do is. I don’t believe he would have done it. Especially not in his spot.

Just got done watching this. Basically just watched the entrances and the endings of a handful of the matches and skipped the middle because I didn’t care too much but here we go… not sure I’ll get the order right.
- mixed tag match - skipped entirely. Sammy is bad. - Hook v one of 2.0 (1.0?) - skipped mostly, Hook is an ok meme but not actually very entertaining. - Pac v Kip - really enjoyed this. I liked Kip when he was around, other than when he was teaming with that skinnyfat emo guy. He’s fun to watch and PAC is brilliant. A bit of a double turn in the match tol with PAC exiting through the heel tunnel. Really wish PAC didn’t have that stupid belt and would be put in the main event. - Kingston vs Ishi - mostly skipped. We’ve had dozens of matches now with an old Jap coming in and have a slap fight with someone, it’s the same routine every time. - Casino royal - was fun, and interesting finish given that it didn’t turn into all the teammates attacking each other and then it was a fairly abrupt ending, something a bit different for a multi man match anyway. Don’t really like this Stokely guy but I’m sure MJF can make it all work out. - Trios match - great. Kenny is the best. Bucks always put on one of the best matches every time they’re on. Don’t care about more belts, wish they didn’t exist, but more Kenny is good. - Jade vs Athena - skipped entirely, don’t care. Merge the womens titles and put it on Jade. - Womens 4 way - skipped a fair bit but caught a lot of the end, wanted Shida to win, but the tension for Britt and Hayter was good. - Tag title match - skipped the start where big fat Keith was just slowly walking round. The second half of the match was great though. Really like Swerve and The Acclaimed are great, should’ve put the belts on them. - Jungle boy vs Christian - meh, did I read that Christian is injured? If so it’d a shame, biggest story going into the ppv ending on a dull note. Good to prolong it with Jungle boy vs Luchasaurus for a bit though. Though they shouldn’t have messed around with Luchasaurus so much. - Starks vs Hobbs - again a bit meh with it being so short but at the same time it’s good that it’s not too predictable. Predictability is what makes wrestling boring. Never used to like Starks but actually enjoying him as a face. - Wardlow and Fte vs Jay Lethal and friends - skipped entirely. Jay Lethals faction is second only to Adam Cole and friends as the worst group in AEW. - House of black vs Darby, sting and Miro - was fine, should’ve just been Miro vs Black 1v1. Pretty much everyone in this match is being misused. Black and Miro should be in the main event. - Jericho vs Danielson - watched the start, got bored quite quickly, so skipped towards the end. Dunno, wasn’t feeling it. Daniel Garcia worst promo in the company. Long pause before his lines are due as if he’s trying to remember what to say. Mannerisms of. 10 year old kid. Punk v Mox - good match, wrong outcome. Mox is the best, Punk is a whingebag. |

Woah. Long post. Not as long as the PPV though. On the whole I think might have been their worst PPV. Too many matches. Too long. Too many crammed in wrestlers. A few weeks ago it was looking to be quite a trimmed down card with just grudge matches and was seeming really interesting

Read a few bits on this backstage stuff in this thread just now. Don’t really care too much, but for the record I’m fully on team Kenny/Bucks over Team Punk. All three are far more entertaining than Punk ever is.

Say what you want about the EVPs, but they were the ones who convinced some Billionaire's Mark kid to start another wrestling company. Without them Phil would still be trying to convince WWE bring him back.

No clue what any of this stuff is to do with. What’s it got to do with Colt Cabana? He’s not been on AEW in months? What’s the issue with Hangman? He seems like a nice guy.
Someone plz explain |

Nah, he’d still be a struggling actor/failed fighter. Maybe a producer on WOW or something. He turned AEW down in the first instance thinking he could leverage back into the WWE because of their existence.

I just hate that Mox had to job to Punk at the PPV and now the AEW championship may have it's really solid lineage messed up!

The camps in AEW are becoming more divided. There’s a CM Punk camp, which believes in watching Bret Hart tapes for inspiration and working your matches to make sense, then there’s the Elite camp which believes it should be a graceful dance and they do it better than anyone and psychology is out of touch. Punk’s side is annoyed because the Elite side limits your appeal and prevents them from drawing big, and The Elite are mad because it’s supposed to be their promotion and it threatens them that the basic principles of pro-wrestling hold up. |

Cabana is well liked among the EVP's and the whole ROH clique that the Elite run in so he was a natural fit for AEW. Cabana wasn't really used much since Punk was hired so some of Colt's friends probably had secret heat with Punk about it, I suppose Hangman being one of those friends. The heat between Hangman and Punk came out during their feud when Hangman said something that upset Punk in a promo. Punk retaliated by shooting on Hangman during a promo well after the program was finished, and confused people. It seems to please Colt's friends, Colt's job was moved to "ROH", and Tony saves face. |

It seemed Clash at the Castle might be the first WWE PPV thread to challenge AEW in interest but that idea has been CRUSHED.

Oh, and when Punk returned he fired off some shots on Page to bury him because he never apologized for spitting on their trust as professionals. This ruffled feathers, things went on — PPV press conference Punk fires off on them all.

What comment did Hangman make? Was it when he said he’s protecting AEW from Punk? Seemed like a good promo and a valid point given that CM Punk is a bit of a bellend.

The funny thing is @ Snogger is that no one asked Punk about Colt at all during the scrum, Punk brought it up and then went on a 20 min tirade about Colt, Hangman Page and the EVPs.
Then Punk and Ace Steel got in a 'real life brawl' with Ace Steel biting Kenny Omega and Punk punching a Young Buck (which apparently tore his pec or bicep) and then someone throwing a chair at a Young Buck |

Shame that this is all overshadowing MJF’s return which has already got the “blurred lines” between fake wrestling and reality, only for all this “reality” stuff to come out and probably get integrated into storylines and take the shine off MJF a bit

That whole promo, whatever it was. Didn’t make much sense and seemed esoteric, passive aggressive and boring. Nothing on-air about Punk had been presented as selfish. Most of the stories coming out about him were positive. A lot of talent just seemingly went down that path on their own which, as Punk said, was “stepping on your own dick.”
