Seems like such an odd thing for Tony to go on the defensive about, especially since Meltzer generally has glowing things to say about AEW.

Ricky Starks and Abadon are really good get for AEW.
The latter intrigues me even more because the women's division really needs the boost after losing Kris Stat. |

Brodie Lee getting some sort of “queen” I guess for his cult seems like a good idea. Was thinking they needed a female in the group last week. And good that someone else will seemingly just join rather than tease for weeks.
Im guessing next week Colt will turn down the offer then we’ll get Colt v Brodie at fyter fest |

I don’t like that Matt Hardy is aware of his multiple personalities.

Hardy’s been mostly a flop for me in AEW. Not even sure what his current path is. Is he the multiple personality? Is he a mentor to Private Party? Is he trying to help Sammy G see the light and break away from Jericho? A bit messy. I guess it could be all of the above and ends with a Hardy and Private Party vs Sammy and P&P match. While he changes gimmick mid match I guess.
That being said, he was great in the stadium match |

Think Hardy mentioned before in an interview this stuff with the multiple personalities is supposed to be the next arch of his Broken/Woken gimmick that would have happened earlier in WWE had they not lost all interest in the general storyline.

The multiple personalities gimmick isn’t so much the issue. It’s that he’s aware of them. Like if you weren’t sure which one you were going to get in a match (and it actually mattered) that’d be one thing. This week the lower 3rd had him as “Broken” Matt Hardy then he said he was “Unkillable” Matt Hardy on commentary. I’m not even sure what that last gimmick is.

The one issue is Matt Hardy was never a marquee talent. He's had good spurts throughout his career where he did quality work (Mattitude stuff was fun), but the standout "it factor" guy has always been Jeff. You could bring him in, everything he does could land/be awesome and, still, nobody would give a fuck. MAYBE if he resembled anything close to his younger self, you could get some lapsed Attitude era fans, but he just seems like some weird old guy now. Beyond that, he's niche as fuck.

The only time he seemed "good" was when he and Edge had the worked shoot angle over the Lita affair thing. That was the only time he actually seemed fired up and did some good shit.

He's a solid midcard hand. I mean, you can use him better than the WWE did in this last run, but I wouldn't give him nearly the elevation he's received in AEW.
