Found the hardest boss for me yet. Forest of Purgatory. Level like 54 place. Boss wrecked my face and caused me to switch teams/jobs 4 times.
Typically I avoid super cheesy tactics but I ended up using Runelord Tressa to beat the boss. I had to. Was getting butt fucked with any other strat or group I put out there. Last edited by Ruien; 08-03-2018 at 07:51 AM. |

Trying to figure out the best jobs for each person so I can just leave everyone with their job and equipment on. Instead of going through the process each time I switch people in and out. Using Olberic Cleric Prim Sorceress Cyrus Dancer Hannit Scholar Therion Warmaster Tressa Runelord Ophelia Starseer Alf Thief |

I unintentionally started doing chapter 4s in OCTOPATH order: Ophilia, Cyrus, Tressa. Decided to continue that way and it's really cool how each Ch4 reveals another piece of the puzzle. Not sure if the PATH side will follow suite, but the first half in that order is incredible.
Also I noticed that the major secondary character in each story could possibly spell out TRAVELER. Not sure if that is a co-incidence with the half I've completed or if the other four actually fit the pattern. Maybe not. Dunno. |

Most intrigued about Alfyn's Ch4 of the ones I have left, because I have no fucking clue where that plotline is going. Prim and H'aanit should be great too, Prim's story is badass while H'annit's is really quirky and a little more of a loose thread. Still can't get over H'aanit's Ch2. That path action. Olberic / Cyrus come through with some great path action usage, but that one just stuck with me haha.
Therion is also there. |

I just finished my last chapter 2. Keep getting sidetracked in the game and doing optional content. My characters are like mid-40's doing these chapter 2 stories haha.

Forget which of you didn't realize there was a run button until late, but I had an even dumber snafu than that....
I didn't realize you could use multiple boost levels on a single turn until I was like 35-40 with everyone lol. Imagine my surprise when I accidentally enabled a multiboost for the first time. |

An absolute ton more. It's not like it made it that much easier as I'm getting into the parts where it seems as though the difficulty is ramping up a good bit. But discovering it definitely added another layer of strategy in when to use the boost and when to stockpile it.

Just unlocked Runelord, that was a tight fight. Merchant H'aanit was clutch for Leghold Trap / Arrowstorm and Hired Help to keep defences up. Getting a lot of mileage from this new combo.
Also, want back and beat Devourer of Men. Still the hardest boss I've seen so far. |

Just got my first of the 4 hidden jobs. Starseer. Fight took 3 tries each losing effort taking about 30 min. 2nd loss she was less than 5k Winning effort i really managedwell hp, bp, sp and breaks were all hyper efficient. Nearly kept her on stun lock the whole time.
Ive been de-jobbing and unequipping everyone not in my party so im free to rebuild my team on the fly. Makes a big diff. |

This boss, like the devourer, forced me to use items. Something rpgs rarely do.
Devourer was wayyyyyy harder though. |

Olberic is such a beast. I've subbed him as a Thief and stacked evasion gear. Even at level 42 or so I can pretty handily win any 10-star duel (albeit with my current damage level it takes a decent amount of time). His story so far has been my favourite as well (just finished chapter 3)

for challenges I like cleric with SP regen. You can just infinitely heal anything they dish is you have the patience.
Speaking of patience: best passive in the game. |

Patience is amazing. I do like the SP Steal skill from the Thief class, saves having to use a passive slot for SP regen. Plus a lot of duel targets tend to be dagger weak so you get 2x break while regening SP or HP which is a nice bonus

Do the forest of purgatory with those levels! Go go. Before you outlevel the hardest boss in the game.

SP share + SP steal is a strat i use when I need accessories and passives for specific fights. I'll dump the SP regen skills/items and have the thief cover SP for the party.

Not sure if I should go after Starseer or Warmaster next, I have fought both once and got wrecked. Would imagine Sorcerer is a huge bitch. Leaning towards the Seer, and then I will go check out your forest.
