Vastardikai's random NWA thoughts
First one is going to be a hot take. The rest will make sense. I am currently to the NWA what Noid was to Val Venis. I know I could put it in the Revival Thread, but there's enough here to demand its own thing.
1. The only thing that came out of All In that's going to end up mattering is going to be the NWA Renaissance, with the shine Cody and Nick put on the Ten Pounds of Gold. Speaking of Sweet Charlotte... 2. Is there a title in any US promotion that is better marketed or hyped? 3. Back to the Hot Take, the NWA is what AEW should be. Or, rather, would be if AEW was run by people who had half the appreciation for the business that Corgan does. 4. The biggest argument against certain talent going to NWA as opposed to AEW is that, in the NWA, they'd be a "big fish in a small pond." My thought is make the play and get a backhoe and expand the god damned pond. 5. If they continue to grow, they'll eventually have to move to Center Stage. Now, I need to end this with 3 facts. 6. Marty Scurrl would be wise to pay attention to what's going on in Jacksonville and stay in Atlanta. 7. Thunder Rosa is a goddess and I admit to having an unhealthy fascination with her. She may be the biggest new star in the company, up there with Ricky Starks and someone I'm about to mention in a moment. She will be Women's Champion, it's just a matter of if she takes the belt off of Kaye or Melina. 8. Question Mark is proof that everything that's old is new again. Part of it is just how good the guy under the hood is. A great deal of wrestling involves facial expressions and how that tells a story. That actually transcends wrestling into much of visual media. This guy has a natural charisma and is doing his craft without facial expressions, and it works. I dread the day the mask comes off and his identity is revealed. Thoughts? Opinions? Willingness to turn this into a Question Mark Appreciation Post? = "KARA-TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Question Mark.

I've enjoyed NWA. Don't like how they've treated Cornette but still watched the PPV. Speaking of it felt like a prolonged episode of Power being at the same location. Main event fell flat with me and was really the only selling point for me. Seeing they will do the next PPV in the same place I don't think I'll buy it, got the last one on credits.

I'm personally not sold on Ricky Starks. He seems to be the NWA's version of Roman Reigns; the guy they want to push and will present as the future of the business, but he reeks of tryhard to me. Like a knockoff Sonny Siaki, if you will.

I've lost interest since the Cornette stuff. I wish them the best, but eh. Wrestling itself doesn't hold my attention anymore.

I felt like NWA was the closest thing modern wrestling had to being to your tastes. So if you’ve lost interest in even that I think the ship has probably sailed on you being able to really invest in wrestling again, sadly. |

Yeah, I dunno. I enjoyed it a lot, but I just didn't watch a few and now it's like...okay.
Still keen for Wrestle Kingdom, but now the only thing that interests me are the behind the scenes moves. |
