WWE Killed Aleister Black
He was fucking perfect as he was. His entrance, his ring entrance, his ring ..everything. It was fucking perfect. And WWE murdered him.
I'll tell you why also. I bet Vince saw too much CM punk in him as far as in ring performance. I dunno. But Aleister Black probably wont come back from this. I hope he doesnt have a long term contract so he can leave. WWE is fucking AIDS. WWE needs to implode and go away now. I hope Vince put all kinds of WWE money into XFL because i think we all know the XFL is gonna be = to a shit pooped out of my ass. Please let WWE go away and AEW take over. Please let WWE go bankrupt. I'm tired of it. Fuck Vince. Fuck everyone. It dont matter who did what to who at this point. The fact is, we went to war. And now there aint no going back. It's what war is you know? Once you're in it, you're in it. If it's a lie, then we fight on that lie, but we gotta fight! |

He should have been one of the easiest call-ups tbh
So naturally instead he is 'moody' and 'angry' and the opposite of how smart, smoothe he was in NXT. |

Cole called him moody. Now he hasn't wrestled since around Wrestlemania and has been cutting promos in the basement

Aleister in NXT had this character who always controlled his emotions so well, it was part of what made his opponents feel disarmed and not sure how to approach him.

His entrance was perfect. His entrance to the ring was perfect. His music was perfect. He needed know change.
Vince McMahon needs to go away fast. It's really bad. I think this company will fold if he doesnt step down. |

I hate these promos and the inevitable debut winning streak and how the announcers will act like it's his debut. He had a bloody Wrestlemania match but they won't mention any of it.

Or the Khan family runs Ann assume rasslin promotion and Vince realizes his productis shit and finally allows the wrestlers to have more of say in their characters, promos and gimmicks, and they just go with who gets hot as opposed to forcing his handpicked champion to a chorus of weekly jeering.

"But Vince McMahon's gonna make money despite himself. He's a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why he's not a billionaire? It's because he surrounds himself with gladhanding, nonsencical, douchebag yes-men like John Laurinitis who's going to tell him everything that he wants to hear! And I'd like to think that maybe this company would be better after Vince McMahon's dead, but the fact is, I'll be taken over by his idiotic daugher and his doofus son-in-law andr the rest of his stupid family!"

They handcuffed themselves with trying to be "family friendly entertainment" for television execs AND please shareholders with "guaranteed" hot product, and Vince also needing "his stamp" on everything. They're trying to serve too many masters, when the main masters should be the fans. And I don't mean in a hijacking the show kind of way, I mean are the people paying to see you actually going to follow your product and want it to remain on their TVs or pay you for live shows? A couple of years back, I remember there was a giant billboard near my house with Roman Reigns on it. Forgot what it was *actually* advertising for, but basically they were trying to market the man as... well... "the man" and he wasn't any kinds of over to be getting that treatment. They act like they can just plug anyone in anywhere it it will work because the talent is interhangeable like an actor playing a part and they are not. Wrestling is not. It is unique. Sometimes, a gimmick is too much for a person. Sometimes, a specific person has that one thing that makes the gimmick work (like Undertaker). Sometimes, the best character the person can be is "themselves up to 11". Sometimes, the best gimmick a guy can have is to be 100% opposite of what he really is. Sometimes, good shit is born out of the right timing and opportunity taken (there were so many moving parts that led to the "Austin 3:16" promo that could have stopped that from even being a thing, from the MSG curtain call all the way down to Steve getting poor secondhand info on something that Jake Roberts supposedly said that pissed him off enough to say that). I have sung the praises of NXT for the last few years, because NXT is putting on a better wrestling product than the supposed "professional level" roster. The so-called rookies are more entertaining than the so-called vets. The matches are far and wide more captivating, the angles make more sense and aren't overproduced and overexposed, and it will always suck that the inevitablity is that whoever gets over will just be "ruined" by a call up. They'll be a "big deal" just long enough to see if one or two appearances will spike ratings, and then they'll be relegated to being just another face in the crowd. As easy as it is to dump all of that on solely being a Vinnie Mac problem (because the buck stops with him), he probably wouldn't be as bad if he didn't also have to consider the other business shit he does anymore. He's not in the same saddle he was 30-some years ago. If something like the steroid trial were happening today, there would be stock hits and sponsors jumping ship and possible TV deals being backed out of. Remember when Daniel Bryan was "fired" because Justin Roberts sold a tie choke like a goddamn champ? With zero sarcasm, I pretty much guarantee Vince thought that was "good shit!" and was prob'ly the one who asked for that close-up camera angle. But some suits elsewhere got pissy because it was "too violent" or whatever, and they had to be appeased. |

I figured since he could be used in Saudi Arabia they held him off tv but gave him the vignettes until he could be back on TV after Showdown. Maybe since only 2 weeks between Showdown and Stomping grounds he'll be back after then. I don't know how you can say they killed him when he's had vignettes the last few weeks. He could have been dropped from tv completely

They’ve saved him from being on TV trading wins with other midcard acts.
By saved I mean prolonged the inevitable. |

From now on, the third hour of raw should just be Zelina Vega playing with Betty Beet.

I'll delve deeper on this though. John Cena almost got fired because they weren't using him right. He busted down doors and made himself with the rapper gimmick.
I'd say while you are correct that they didn't kill John Cena, their hamfisted creative methods certainly limited his success. He was big with the kiddies - which is certainly lucrative. But while 18-35 begrudgingly accepted him as a great talent over time, the demo's long-lasting resistance to Cena stopped him from being truly transcendent. The thing with 18-35 that makes it so ideal... is it has a trickle-down effect. If 18-35s love something, the chances are, so does 12-17 and their little brothers and sisters will follow suit. When your demo is 5-12 or whatever it was that loved Cena, you'll get those merch sales and whatnot, but you're not getting all you can out your commodity. Though now he's kicking ass in Hollywood, and WWE gave him a platform to advertise that charisma, so maybe you do have a point. However, I don't think the WWE's idea was for him to leave for Hollywood so he could make more money. Last edited by Ol Dirty Dastard; 06-14-2019 at 03:11 PM. |

John Cena is a bigger star without WWE than he was with WWE. You could say the same for The Rock, but it's a bit different. The Rock was like steak in the WWE, and he's now become a chain of steak restaurants. John Cena was like roast chicken in the WWE, and now he's fried chicken without WWE. His recipe is a lot different and there's more of a feeling that the shackles are off with him moving on.
And you can even feel that when he comes back, because people are happy he's there now. Thank god a star is here. Except that doesn't come from his wrestling presentation at all. |

People always rave about WWE's production, but there is just something stilted about it that I don't like. It's the lighting and how glossy it is. He's not presented well in that photo at all. The caption is fucking awful and unintentionally hilarious. The wardrobe is off. Everything about it is from some alternative reality that just makes you feel uncomfortable.
