totally down with Reigns being non Cena esque. Hopefully they run with that and if he works good matches (not like the one at mania where it was a similar feel to Orton vs Cena and that is an insult lol) he'll fit nicely into that role.

I'd be down for the Reigns stuff if they actually allowed him to acknowledge the booing on camera. It's great and all for live interaction but it's useless for his character development if nobody outside of the arena is going to see it.

It's actually a brilliant idea to have him be this tweener that the company actually acknowledges and uses against faces and heels, instead of the force fed stuff that Cena dealt with beautifully.

Agree, he doesn't need to be face or heel. Tweener is perfect for him. Stick some sunglasses on him and just have him be a cocky guy. And stop all the smiling.

WWE really need to get away from the authority figure so there heels can branch out and develop more character. Every heel has done something for HHH that's why they all seem like sell outs. The heels are more united than the faces are.

It led to a flat story in the Lesnar match that with hindsight makes no sense with Lesnar destroying Ambrose at every turn and then beating him clean at Mania. The funny part is that the stated goal of pulling Ambrose from the plan with Chris Jericho to Lesnar, and pulling Wyatt from Lesnar, was to get Ambrose over. Instead, every aspect of the Mania build up past making him a quirky midcard face who was endorsed by Terry Funk and Mick Foley, basically told the story that he’s a more charismatic Ryan Bader, a guy who beats most guys, but has no chance to beat any true top guy.

It’s pretty clear that Balor, Joe, Nakamura, Zayn, Asuka, Bayley, Austin Aries, Jordan & Gable should all not only be on the main roster, but most should be top tier stars. Balor should be one of the top guys, and as a high flier who is 34 with a lot of miles on him, he shouldn’t be wasting his remaining bump card for a salary with one less zero at the end. In a company weak on top heels today, the idea of bringing up Corbin instead of Joe, who at 37, also shouldn’t be wasting his remaining best earning years both for himself and for the company when he’s probably the best opponent on the entire roster right now for Brock Lesnar ... Roman Reigns ... The Rock, as well as every other top babyface ...

WWE just called up two women from developmental, Emma and Eva Marie, while leaving Bayley and Asuka here. Asuka is easily the best woman wrestler in the company, and is as good as any of the men as far as the wrestling aspect goes ... When the entire idea is to rebuild the women’s division to be taken as serious athletics and Eva Marie and even Emma are brought up ahead of her, well, that’s just mind boggling talent judgment, and I’m glad Emma was brought up ...

Nakamura has experience in big buildings, but I didn’t know about his style translating without needing some time to figure out the differences between Japan and the U.S. But he’s already figured out how to get over in the ring in the U.S. more than guys who have worked 20 years in the U.S. ...

Bayley is a different situation. She and Balor are the faces of the promotion. There’s also a really good chance the talent evaluators who see Eva Marie as a top star even though she’s got nothing but a killer body and very limited talent will totally miss the boat on Bayley ...

Jordan & Gable are a fantastic team. They are the best team in the company. Enzo & Cass, who were just brought up, have a great act, and can be excellent show openers. Jordan & Gable can be a tag team that main events and carries a show ... The Vaudevillains were just brought up, but we’ve already seen in NXT that they have a limited shelf life.

Shown and identified were Kota Ibushi and Bobby Roode. They wouldn’t have shown them if they didn’t believe they were going to be debuting them soon ... Ibushi should be main roster bound quickly ... But for quota reasons, since so many decisions are based on quotas in WWE, they may be reluctant to push more than one super working Japanese male on the main roster at the same time.

For Nakamura, at least so far, he’s keeping his first name. It can change on the main roster, but given part of his value is to help penetrate the Japanese market and beat New Japan for the top spot there, changing a name that famous doesn’t make marketing sense in the big picture.

He’s not keeping his music, but we knew that going in. He’s also keeping his bom a ye finish, although for whatever reason, not the name bom a ye. I have no idea why, although the new name is the Kinshasa.
Part of a longer Observer report on the recent odd NXT call-up decisions by the WWE. Also Nakamura's finisher is now named after the location of the Ali-Foreman fight instead of the chant the crowd gave to Ali and how it carried over to Inoki's wrestling matches. https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCirc...ura_joe_balor/

Well-placed sources tell us Vince was wanted Dave to appear in the legends segment Sunday night — the one that eventually featured Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels getting physical with The League of Nations and Xavier Woods — but as we previously reported, Dave had to pass.

The actor/former wrestler has instead been busy filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and was just announced as one of the cast members in the upcoming “Blade Runner” sequel.

Despite reports though, a ref spot was never in the cards at WrestleMania.

His role is now the world champion and he’s not turning heel, but he’s the old-school champion like Dory Funk Jr., Jack Brisco or Lou Thesz in the sense they become heels because they defend against faces with the psychology fans want to see a title change. But they never behaved themselves like heels, and just did a few subtle things in the matches to play that role.

Reigns was mouthing stuff with his back to the camera at some ringside fans when they heckled him saying “I run this bitch.” He did something similar off camera at Mania, as ringsiders were booing him heavily as he was leaving the ring after the show, and he said, “This is my motherf***ing house, bitches.”

The replay then drew 78,000 viewers, the second-most of the season. The bump in replay viewership helped draw the most total viewers in the show’s history.
It does have a bad downside since the very valuable 18-49 age market was down by a lot compared to two weeks ago.

What’s amazing is that as late as 2011, they set the U.S. gate record with $6,268,391 at Phillips Stadium in Atlanta, which tells how much they’ve been able to raise tickets prices in just the last five years. The fact they could sell so many seats at the prices they charged this year makes it likely prices will rise again for next year.
Rising ticket prices was a huge reason why Mania 29 topped Mania 28 for highest revenue made at the time even though its buy sales were around 200k lower.

One source noted to F4Wonline.com that there were a lot of typical WrestleMania production steps like rehearsals and shooting that was not done this year because WWE officials figured everything would change the morning of the big event anyway.

But we all know that isn't gonna happen and Ryder will be back to doing whatever.

Seems like the IWC bloggers don't get the NXT call ups. They should have called me, I had them all pegged before Mania.

Seems they can't comprehend that NXT still needs to be able to draw, so you can't just gut all their top guys. Bayley was the only mild surprise to bit get called up, but I had a feeling they wanted to keep her in NXT to continue a program with Aska.

The tag team call ups were perfectly logical because both teams have done all they can in NXT. They will both add depth to the tag division.

As for Lesnar vs Ambrose. Ambrose got a run working with Lesnar. The booking reminds me of HHH vs Sting a little. People thought going in that Sting was a lock, but when you look at where the money matches are, it made sense for HHH to stay strong. Same thing here. Lesnar vs Reigns is a bigger money fight than Ambrose vs Reigns. So you keep Lesnar strong. What is funny is if Lesnar would have done the favour, the IWC bloggers would write about how Lesnar just comes off as "another guy".

Yeah no one thought Ambrose was going to win but did think he was going to put up more of a fight. Going in I thought it would be a brutal match that saw Ambrose keep getting up until Brock snapped and ended it but it just seemed rushed. He put up more of a fight in the build up than he did in the match.

TNA received a cease & desist letter last month from Ohio indie wrestler Justin Carnes, who wrestled under the name Krimson (an evil clown) and has actually worked for TNA as an enhancement talent, in regards to the Crazzy Steve character and The Decay stable, according to PWInsider. Carnes has also worked under the name Conrad Kennedy III.

Carnes claims that elements of Steve's performance have been lifted from his work as Krimson, including Steve's mannerisms, costumes, face paint and the red mist. Carnes also says he created a stable called "Dead Wrestler's Society" in 2010 and Steve ripped that idea off in TNA.

The cease & desist asks TNA to stop all usage of the copyrights Carnes claims to own, and asks that the company acknowledge in writing that they will comply by April 6th, which was Wednesday. It also noted that Carnes may pursue legal action if TNA doesn't comply.

No word yet on what TNA plans to do but their legal team has the letter. Steve has been with the company since 2014 and is the current TNA Tag Team Champion with Abyss.

"We've got an expression back home, saying 'jobs for the boys'. And basically, get your foot in the door and jam it open and then get as many of your mates here as you can. And that [has] been my main objective since I got here." Bálor continued, "so far so good. There [are] still a couple of names on the list that I'm trying to sneak in the back window and things like that."

Xavier Woods told IGN in a post-WrestleMania 32 interview that Kofi is the one who came up with their Dragon Ball Z-inspired outfits for the big pay-per-view. He says WWE trusts them more now than when they started to come up with their own outfits, and revealed what usually happens when Vince McMahon first sees one of their ideas up close.

"It's funny, because we'll always have some kind of harebrained idea, and then [Vince] sees it right before we go through the curtain, and just kind of gives a little grin and thumbs up," Woods said.

"It's to a point now where we kind of have a little bit more trust than we did when we started. And they know we're not going to go out there and do something that's going to mess up a sponsorship or anything like that. Things we do are going to do are going to be in-bounds for our PG parameters. Still be fine for kids, but then have something that's a little bit for adults. We liken it to Shrek: we're in PG parameters but there's jokes in there for adults if you're paying attention."

Some other sheet news includes:
  • Observer recently hinted the main reason WWE brought back Maryse was for her to be in the cast for the next season of Total Divas. Lana got picked for the cast due to her upcoming wedding fitting well as a storyline for the new season. Both are part of big cast changes meant to help fix struggling ratings with the show.
  • According to the WWE, Mania 32 set a couple of records for the company. It broke the Mania merch record by around a $1.2 million, Network's highest week ever in terms of average hours watched, and most social media event in WWE history.
  • WWE is currently rumored to recently have pulled Taker out from all shows in their upcoming European tour.
  • Recent article by the New York Times dealt with a hypothetical situation involving the WWE ditching tv in favor of moving all their shows to the Network if ratings tank to a certain point. The idea being by that point, the Network would be generating more revenue for the company than their tv deals. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/09/sp...wrestling.html
  • Sports Illustrated had a recent interview with Hogan with some highlights being Hogan hoping he can be involved with Mania 33, Reigns needing to listen to crowds in regards to where his character needs to go in direction, Dean Ambrose being this gen's Roddy Pipper, and him being happy former TNA guys are arriving in the WWE. http://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2016...a-roman-reigns
  • WWE is currently planning on releasing a new Attitude Era DVD/Blu-Ray set this August and will contain matches never before seen on tv. http://www.wrestlingdvdnetwork.com/tag/attitude-week/
  • Update to Lucha Underground hiring MVP news as MVP revealed he will work mostly as a agent for the company.

Apparently within a week or two MVP managed to both get hired and fired from Lucha Underground.

According to the Observer, LU didn't like his podcast show had LU wrestler on it recently and thought he was giving away spoilers for the next season.

MVP released a statement confirming he got fired and was due to him breaking terms of his contract. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm8ifagDiaU
