Never before seen expose from '79, before "Exposed! Pro Wrestling's Greatest Secrets"
So this is pretty cool just found it on the F4W forums. It's an expose on pro rasslin from a bunch of Poffo's ICW workers. It never aired, and was just found apparently. You've got some bullshit in here but it seems like they were planning to break kayfabe and say that NWA and WWF were fake and whatever product they were going to produce was real.

Do they show a stunt granny in the crowd though? If not, that's a deal-breaker.

It's interesting, but what was their end game. In 1979 this was still WWWF and Bob Backlund, it's not like they wanted to take down what WWF became when Ginny Mac took over.

Just listened to the Bob Roop interview. Every time his group tried to run, Ron Fuller would run opposition against him and bring in huge stars, so they decided to try and fuck Ron and South Eastern Wrestling over.

Ron Fuller's side of the story as featured on his podcast. Roop and Co were trying to steal the territory, when they failed they tried to kill it instead. Ron Garvin stole a boat from Fuller after a "win a boat" tourney and Ron Fuller kayfabe'd in court rather than expose the business to get his boat back. Crazy |

There's so many people from that era of wrestling that I wish would have written a book that have long passed.
Guys like Phil Zacko who promoted areas for Vince Sr like Philadelphia, Gorilla Monsoon and Arnold Skaaland who were involved in the office etcc... Can you imagine the stories they must have had. So much carny greatness. |

Ronnie Garvin I believe is writing a book.
He started wrestling in the late 50's. That man has some great stories, my favourite being the time he stretched Tugboat in a ditch haha |

I really want to read more about the territories from a promoter's viewpoint. I'm struggling to find the material though, which in itself is mental given how far spread and divided the territories were. Kayfabe is such a double edged sword for "the business" and history. Now that it's out in the open we can only look back at about 100 years of untold or second hand stories and wonder.

While not from a promoter's viewpoint, there is a book coming out later this year that has the viewpoint from a jobber during his time in the territories and WWF from the late 70s through the 80s. Quote:

Ted Turner and Vince aren't really what I mean by territory promoters. I was thinking smaller. I mean people like The Sheik, Paul Bosch(sp?), Jim Barnett, Verne Gagne... Fritz etc.
