Damn, nice. Gonna have to get that. Would buy the 5th in hardback right now while it is available, and then get those. Main problem is that stores often don't carry the hardbacks for some books for long. Only one available in hardback at my Barnes and Noble is the 5th one.

In which book? She only had a couple chapters in Book 2 that I remember. Book 3 was incredible. Loved Daenarys.

Loving this book, but damn he could have used a stricter editor. So many little side actions that don't advance the plot or the characters at all.

Like? Kind of curious, as I never felt that way. Not saying there aren't any, but at the same time, those could be points that come into play later.

Don't get me wrong, there's a ton that's obviously going to become relevant in the future. Most of it is with Arya I suppose. Just a ton of pages that could be cut out entirely without any negative impact. "On the fifth day, she and Hot Pie started wrestling around in the mud. Then they came across a village, and thought they came across some wolves. For the next few days, blah blah".
Not an actual quote, but just saying. I guess it helps establish the "reality" of the world, but it doesn't make for the tightest story telling. And obviously a very minor complaint in the realm of such an awesome story |

I get what you're saying. But yeah I personally just really liked hearing about the world from their perspectives. I think a lot of those little details are important in a book. He spent more time describing actions and things they found, than unimportant details about the way things look ala Tolkien (ugh). Although I will say, he describes food more than is needed. Don't know what it is about food, but he does tend to go on and on about it sometimes. Guess it's because he's a fat guy.

Yeah that's definitely true. Don't need to know every ingredient stuffed in that hen.
In the end I like all the characters so much that even hearing about Arya doing something totally inconsequential is still interesting. |

Just finished book 4 and I dunno what to think. It was a good addition to the story but I was hugely disappointed because I didn't get any of the things I wanted out of the book.
Need to go pick up book 5 but I picked up the first 4 in paperback and 5 is only out in hardcover and I hate not having uniformity in my books. |

Damn you all, I am still on Book 1. So glad I went ahead with hardcover though, totally worth it.

Finished book 2, then read Hunger Games in one sitting. Probably the direct opposite in terms of story telling. Pretty entertaining tho.
Getting geared up for book 3 |

I have officially downloaded an e-book copy of Dance With Dragons. At first I was like "Man, reading on my computer screen sucks", but now I can't stop reading it.
