Weird, the Twins and Royals are wearing retro uniforms today. I have no idea what the Twins uni's are, they say STPG, but I'm not sure who that would be. Back in the day we had the St. Paul Saints and the Minneapolis Millers (farm teams of the Dodgers and Giants I think). I don't think this is either of them though.

Sounds like a negro league tribute thing. St. Paul Gophers were from Minnie in the early 1900's.

If the A's somehow make it past the Angels for the AL west and meet the ChiSox in the playoffs, I have no fear.

My predictions for the AL playoffs, as of right now:
White Sox Red Sox Red Sox win pretty easilly, lose maybe one game Angels Twins Good series, obviously I am going to say Twins, but thats just me. Anyway, I'd be pretty surprised if the Red Sox and Cards don't meet in the World Series again. |

Sorry Roxer but the AL West race is over. A's still have a shot at the wild card but I see the Yankees and Twins having better second halves.

Yeah, I don't see them toppling the Angels either but IF. And I doubt they'll take the wild card. |

The AL East is all fucked up now. The Red Sox are sputtering for no reason, the Yankees are randomly surging, and the Orioles are just sitting right in the middle. In the end, I think the Red Sox are the most complete and most together team, so I predict them coming out of there.

Boston gets:
RP Chad Bradford Oakland gets: OF Jay Payton Great trade for the Red Sox, their pen sucks and Bradford kills righties. And Payton is pretty much useless for them. Oakland is apparently going to either immediately trade Payton to the Rockies or Yankees; or trade Eric Byrnes somewhere, maybe the Giants. I think trading Byrnes is stupid, but if they can get a quality reliever or a RH bat for Payton they should do it. |

Yeah I'm a fan of Byrnes too, I would hope they keep him in Oakland.

He's making rehab appearances in AAA. With Street Duke Calero and Yabu they're pretty much set for righty relief.

Booney signed with the Twins.
Thank god he signed with somebody who I don't hate. If he would've signed with the Rangers or Yankees or somebody I would've choked myself. |

I think Boone might fit in pretty well here. Hopefully at least. His glove will be a big addition as well. I'm interested to see how it turns out. The Twins still need to do more though.

Awesome segment on Baseball Tonight. I hope they show it again later so I can tape it. Basically they highlighted some ofl the great defensive players of all-time and showed some what would of been considered web gems before there was a "web gem" segment.
I like how they mentioed a few 1900 guys like Wagner and Speaker. |

I guess you can't really take forgranted the player to be named. In trading AJ Pierzynski to the Giants two years ago, the player to be names was Francisco Lariano, who is apparently better then Santana at this point in his career.

Byrnes makes web gems almost every time he plays the field but he is pretty shitty defensively. The reason he has to dive is because he gets horrible jumps and he takes horrible routes to balls. But he was alot of fun to watch even though he was a moron. Colorado will be a better suit for him, he really didn't play "A's style" baseball. I expect him to hit about .310 with 30 homers and 30 steals next year

I just realized Oakland has now gotten rid of all the guys that either choked or did something really stupid in the playoffs. Byrnes, Tejada, Jeremy Giambi, Terrance Long, Mark Mulder

haha, I'm the same. Just replace the Yanks with the M's. I have an A's sweatshirt I wear all the time.
I like the A's so much because they're just a bunch of young guys having fun. I remember back like two years ago, they did a segment on ESPN with Zito, Mulder, Chavez and one of the relief guys and they were all at someone's house playing basketball, throwing each other in the pool, playing the guitars, racing bikes and I remember thining how much these guys ruled. |

Nice, 6-6 in the ninth and then Schilling comes in and gives up a 2 run homer to A-Rod. Still no outs.
