Will coronavirus kill off / nearly kill off the wrestling business?

Attendance is non-existent, merch sales are down, ratings are down, the xfl is down, lots of bad PR black eyes...Are we looking at a future where somehow only WWE/AEW/NJPW/ROH/Impact exists but with far less fans (RAW could drop as low as 1.2 million possibly) or the death of wrestling as we know it?

Depends on how long this lasts. If the rumors of no sporting events for a year without fans then it will close for awhile. Then it will comeback when life resumes as normal.

I doubt it.

But, I think it's going to come down to the people and the countries.

The U.S. is in this for the long haul. But I think smaller nations like Japan & the U.K., who probably got a better hold of this than we do will be back. Maybe sooner than we think (being optimistic here). Zero clue how things are going in Mexico.

It's the independent and small time outfits worldwide that are going to get hurt.

No, at worst wrestling just becomes even more niche at least in terms of tv.

The bigger and more notable companies should be relatively ok in the end but the rest of the indies are going to get hammered badly from this. Already been talks and fear of the industry shrinking a lot because too many smaller indies likely won't be coming back once things resume back to normal.

I think the WWE could be killed off depending on how thin they are stretched and if Fox decides they need to trim fat due to the economy.

AEW will probably be fine as long as they limit spending right now and possibly find other outlets to air the product. This might actually be a great time to air a live show on Twitch like Impact did ( or does? ).

WWE and AEW will survive without a doubt. Other than that I dunno. I could see ROH and Impact both tanking rather easily. Sinclair is already on thin ice and could potentially fold up entirely, taking Impact with it. ROH just isn't the ROH of old and I dunno how they make it through this. Also not sure how NWA makes it. Without a live audience/merch sales, what income do they even have? All the small indy feds are in dire jeopardy too.

I'm not familiar enough with the current pandemic situation in other countries, nor their own stimulus plans, to make a judgement on who survives and who doesn't.

I think it will alter it. The shows are ridiculous and this “outside the box” thinking doesn’t work. That being said, it could be the bushfire that allows regrowth too. I don’t really expect good things from either WWE or AEW, but maybe when live events pick up someone does something big to try and capitalize? Probably blue sky thinking on my behalf.
