I see a lot of people online saying how this isn't fair and this cancel culture stuff has to stop. It was 10 years ago, get over it. Things like that.

Ironically there is about a 98% overlap in the group saying that and people who were celebrating literally yesterday when Whoopie got suspended.

No one is entitled to a platform. Plus it can also be a business decision. If promotions don’t feel it is worth their while to promote someone with controversial takes, they aren’t obligated to use them.

It's no surprise that a stoner idiot, in the extended adolescent bubble of professional wrestling, would be into David Icke, and nonsense like that.

But even when you're dabbling in any aspect of that nonsense, there's a point where you have to draw a line, say "this isn't fun any more", and recognize that what you're espousing to the public isn't just abject bullshit, but hateful, dangerous and morally repugnant. Holocaust denial is a good few miles beyond that line FFS.

When you talk about the Holocaust, Sandy Hook and 9/11 like that and then say it was “never” your beliefs when you were recorded doing so and had a whole video of you specifically saying so, that’s a certain level of - well, not taking any responsibility.

I don't think he needs to be deleted from existence, I think pulling him off of last night's show was the right call and in addition to his Twitter apology I imagine the company will have him do some sort sensitivity training or whatever.

I wouldn't expect him to be "benched" for long. Probably at least 3 weeks because I can't imagine them throwing him out there in Bridgeport, all of 20 min away from Sandy Hook, but I could see him appearing for the company in March.

Def don't think people should be permanently deplatformed unless they do something especially heinous, the sex pests in the business are a far bigger issue IMO.

I think the sensitivity training is the dumbest fucking shit about this type of thing. If the person was offensive recently sure, that makes sense. But making someone go for something they said over a decade ago is outright admitting you're not going to even entertain the idea that this person has grown and changed since then. I realize aew knows this and would do it for the optics, but it's shitty and again, unfair that they feel they'd need to.

Surely Forbidden Door refers to someone appearing on a show of a promotion when contracted to another? It’s not forbidden if the person is a free agent!

This is why people can’t get into AEW, it’s all overhype and underwhelm. A TOP wrestler, FORBIDDEN door….and it’s Keith Lee. A guy the bigger company decided wasn’t worth his contract.
