The Elias gimmick fucking sucked. It’s peak “groan WWE” for me. Encapsulates that 2015-2017 wtf are they doing shit. Ezekiel was at least a way to segue into him being a wrestler. The guy pretending to be his own brother to fuck with people had legs.

Just repackage him under a new identity in NXT. Or use him as Ezekiel Samson down there, since he’d technically be a rookie. I’ve got zero desire for the guy strumming his guitar on Raw or SmackDown.

I’d be fine with him showing up as Elias for the Halloween Raw, but he’s Ezekiel playing Elias because it’s Halloween. If he can segue that into something (EE Samson?) then fine. But Elias is a step back.

Agreed. Feels like Elias ran out of steam, hence the trouble trying to repackage him. Really not interested in another main roster run for that character.

Yeah, stupid. ALLLLLLLL the other people on the roster, and this. A HUGE reason I stopped watching was when they did this shit. "Special attraction" or whatever. Well, Logan Paul is not a special attraction, and Reigns should absolutely obliterate him, hands down.

Yeah, fair point. I can see Triple H and Stephanie trying to give them more focus, which could help in one aspect. The talent being jet-lagged, the familiarity the crowd has with the product, the heat, etc. are all still going to be factors. It’s a tough situation for Logan actually.

I get why people are excited. Triple H’s heart is in the right place. I’m not feeling the timing of this though. And I think the stip should come about from the feuds and not be announced so far out ahead of time. And there isn’t going to be blood, so it won’t feel like authentic War Games.

It’s a step in some sort of direction though.

Sometimes I think about how things would have been different if Cornette had stuck around for SmackDown. He’d probably have gone insane. You need him to have different DNA. But he was getting out at the time Vince Russo was getting out too. It’d have been interesting hearing Cornette calling Angle, Jericho, Benoit and Guerrero matches, and being there alongside the rise of Triple H.

Agreed about the stip just being announced instead of working to it. Though I get it, if you can’t have Regal come out and shout “WAR GAMES!” what’s the point?

They seem to be getting loose with the roster split, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Friday is his debut and he ends up teaming with Edge & Rey against Judgment Day in Saudi Arabia. I didn’t catch the Demon thing. That’s nice. I’d be surprised if we just get The Fiend back. I could see him wanting to evolve it again. That said apparently there was a hint from Bliss too and the music they’ve been playing in the breaks in the show. Although people could just be adding 2 + 2 and getting 7.

I really, REALLY hope we don’t get The Fiend back. That being said, it apparently moved a lot of merch. Triple H seems to be having fun, but at the end of the day, he is going to want it punctuated by success so he can keep doing the things he wants to do. The Fiend, or at least that being a “side” to Bray Wyatt could be one of his tentpoles.
