Will Andrade "Cien" Almas ever be a top tier champion in WWE?
For my money, as long as they keep Zelina Vega with him, it would be foolish NOT to have him become one. The dude is straight FIRE in the ring, and the chemistry with Vega is just off the charts. They seem to like him at least a little bit, and for that I'm happy. Love watching the dude work.

I certainly hope so. He is great and the partnership with Vega is perfect.

For sure with the current brand split era since there are two main belts to spread around.
He already has all the in-ring tools needed and Vega as his mouthpiece to easily become the next top Hispanic star for the company. Just needs WWE to actually stay motivated on building up his stardom status and not treat him in the end like Sin Cara, Sin Cara 2.0, Kalisto, and Del Rio to a degree. |

Also they need to not ever have him try to talk English.... was painful on Smackdown when he tried.... at least Del Rio I could understand when he was talking English.

Yes and No.
Yes because he's about 1-2 major matches away from getting into the big time. Zelina Vega is a honey and a great valet. She just needs to stay out of the ring. No because Rey Mysterio is on his way back and Almas could easily be forgotten and Vince/Creative decides to push Mysterio is the next top Hispanic wrestler. |

He should be. But I don't really have faith in WWE to follow through with him. Like ClockShot said, Mysterio is coming back and I'm afraid WWE will use that as an excuse to derail Andrade and push Rey instead.
If they were smart, they would push both of them and then have Rey put Andrade over eventually to cement him as the next big Hispanic star. |

If Mysterio is coming back, Andrade will definitely go the Alberto Del Rio route and have continual feuds vs. Rey

I want to go back to NXT Brooklyn 2.
It wasn't about Cien, it was about Bobby Roode. You never know how the main roster is gonna chew up and spit out talent. Watching Cien get a push just makes me sad for how bad they blew it with Bobby Roode. |

It doesn't matter. Jinder Mahal was in that spot last year. Almas could be a lot worse and get a giant run with the belt, and he could be a lot better and never see it.

I’m impressed with his work ethic , from what I remember he was close to leaving after growing disillusioned with how he was being used at first in NXT, but he got on with it and there was a bit of luck with Vega joining and those two coming together. Since then it has been gold.

No. He doesn't speak English. Great talent with a great mouthpiece, but the odds are not in his favour IMO.

Lack of perfect English didn't stop Nakamura from being in a World Title match at a WrestleMania...then again, Nakamura also shits charisma all over the place.

I don't think so, he's not as big as Alberto and I really don't see WWE getting behind him as much. Good IC/US title guy though. If NXT does a Latin America NXT show(Latino Heat) he could be the face for that.

Do non smarks give a fuck about Nakamura other than his entrance? I haven't gotten behind him at all because he does nothing in the ring other than have orgasm faces.

Almas is billed at 5'9". Even if that is accurate, that is still 5 inches shorter, and that is not what Vince is about. Fair or not, Vince doesn't tend to push to the moon guys that aren't at least 6 foot tall unless they are REALLY special in everything else, Daniel Bryan, Eddie Guerrero, Ect |

This explains all anyone needs to know to get the real answer.
"Height requirements" aside, the current angle with him and Vega and Rusev and Aiden English is all just one big ploy to get Lana over as far as this company is concerned... the least talented person in the entire angle is the one WWE sees the most value in. In the 80's, this tandem would be big money heels on gimmick alone. In the 90's, they would have been far superior to the Papi Chulo/Lita pairing. In the 2000's, even though it would screw up the actual count, I can see him being included in the infamous "Smackdown Six", as the duo would fit perfectly in what was going on there. But now, I fear he will just be another misused talent that WWE can't be assed to book out of a paper bag, but don't want him making a name for himself and money for NJPW, ROH, or Lucha Underground. Side note: somebody said he "can't speak English". He can, and spoke it perfectly fine before Zelina came along, but part of the gimmick is that he just mostly refuses to just to be a douchebag heel... this is just another one of those things WWE kinda forgot how to put over. They never explained it on the main roster, and if you weren't familiar with his progress in NXT, you would never know. Because WWE didn't explain it. In any way. So I would really be surprised if they allowed him to be a top tier champion. It is one of those things that his ceiling is as high as the company allows it to be, and I don't see it being much higher than it currently is, which is fucking shameful. |

WWE gives pushes to heaps of people who can't talk. They pushed Jinder, and he can't talk nor wrestle.

Almas is so good, I hope for the best for him. Top tier champion? Sure, I think he could pull it off, do I think they will book it? I have no idea. However I just had a vision of Almas vs Cena at WM and that would be a perfect way to elevate him.
