Any meetups if I decide to go to the Indy show next month? I'll probably do a TPWW sign like peeps did back in the day.

I'm training my 3 year old nephew on cool shit right now. I've converted my "office" into an arcade. Mortal Kombat, TMNT, & Rampage Arcade1Up cabinets. I think the introduction to wrestling should be AEW and not back catalog shit.

Inner Circle gonna turn on Jericho eventually and lose their bubbly privileges. They'll also make the list. Swagger Ralfus is gonna have his hands full.

Are both tag tournament matches next week or just Private Party vs. Lucha Bros?

Have they said that the final match will be on TV or at the PPV?

It's so hard to take Jericho seriously right now. He needs to drop 25 pounds.

Darby Allen wrestling with his hands tied behind his back is better than anything the WWE has done in 10 years.

I just watched the show. Best episode yet. The wrestling this week was awesome. Riho came off like a star by the end of her match. Yeah it had a bad moment but they made up for it big time. The opening tag was really freaking good, then the Marko & Jungle Boy vs Lucha Bros was AWESOME, then Mox and Pac vs Kenny and Hangman was AMAZING, and then Jericho and Darby was DOPE. Really creative main event and just all around awesome show. I can't wait for next week.
I am now hoping Lucha Bro's take the tag belts, they are fucking superstars. Pentagon is scary as fuck and Fenix is one of the most amazing wrestlers ... he's like a Mexican Tiger Mask... Lucha Bro's gotta take the belts. |

I was left wondering how a Jericho match could close the show suitable following that sick tag with Omega/Page and Pac/Mox ... then I was like... "It's a Darby Allin and Painmaker Jericho street fight.... okay this could do it". Jericho is really a legend in our time. Darby in all of his freshness is also a sort of throwback in a way to the early early days of American catch as catch can. Unfortunate that they didn't state the rope break rule to the crowd though.

I really don't see how any match can be the final of the tag tournament other than Lucha Bro's vs SCU Kazarian and Scorpio. Scorpio looked like a superstar tonight and I think could be capable of greatness.

It really was a great show. It seems like each week they just keep improving and each week's show is better than the last.

Page and Omega v Moxley and Pac was amazing. Especially the end with Moxley. Broadcast teamed mentioned during his entrance that Pac doesn't like Moxley and we get a payoff on that comment at the end.
Omega and Moxley are going to tear the house down at Full Gear. Their chemistry is thru the roof |

Similar thing happened with NXT and a big reason for its popularity. The crowd helped make the shows more lively which made for a better viewing experience compared to RAW and Smackdown. Those benefits then trickled down to TakeOver events helping make the overall feel of those shows better than main roster PPV events. Only downside with NXT's crowd experience is their house show numbers haven't really grown over the years and in a bunch of cases have actually struggled in sales meaning Full Sail has been causing their growth to stagnate. |

Seriously, seriously great stuff all around from AEW tonight.
My one nitpick would be the Darby Allin submission. J.R. kept alluding to Allin not submitting (even in a do or die moment) all night. Not that it truly matters because AEW, Darby, Cody and Jericho just fucking MADE this kid a STAR but from a certain character standpoint, it sticks out. |

Marko Stunt is amazing and s0 fun to watch
I saw him at an MLW show and feel like he was one of the most over people on the show and was in easily the match of the night. Everyone I was with also loved him, including people who don't really watch wrestling |

Damn wanted to see Luchasaurus. Hope he’s not injured too long. Fee like him and Swagger can eventually have a pretty great big athletic hoss match.
Pentagon and Fenix def have to win the belts. Didn’t like SCU until this episode. Seemed weird that a bunch of bald 64 year olds would act like they’re in a fraternity. 100% thought they would be the heel jobbers of the tag division. But in one episode they became sympathetic faces. I like that the lines are blurred between face and heel to an extent. Darby Allin has been made into a relatively big deal in just 3 episodes and a couple of ppv’s lol. |

PAC getting pissed off with Moxley because he wants to win the match and not get dq’d was good. Shows that winning matches matters.

Not sure what Mil is currently doing but Marty supposedly has been laying low ever since causing a scene backstage in AAA. Wasn't really his fault but think he got blacklisted from the company as a result. |

Finally had time to watch this show.... another good showing from AEW....
Liked the Cody Rhodes video package a lot.... amazing how much they can sell the match just doing that, instead of forcing him to actually be on the show, on TV, maybe cutting the same promo every week..... or to do a "contract signing" that ends in a brawl to "build heat" and get the two competitors together....... Wasn't super into the woman's match until they started mentioning Lock Jaw Not into Marko Stunt, and thought that match went on way too long and that they shoulda just killed him. Sad at no Luchasaurus. Loved the PAC/Moxley interaction and ending, and how it is leading to a match between them next week. Love how AEW can have "layers" to stories and not just one dude focused on one story/feud/rivalry. I will say that Jon Moxley does not look great in tights.... wish he would go back to the Ambrose look of rassling in jeans/wife-beater.... set him "apart" more, and fits his character better..... Main event was good, Darby Allin is nuts...... I wish the commentators would tell his story on air again, though..... They just mention that he paints himself half-skull because he feels half dead..... but I remember something about when he fought Cody they really played up that some family member died or he almost died or drowned or something and that is why he felt like he was half dead and didn't fear pain and suffering..... |

I'm torn on Marko Stunt.
On one hand, I don't believe he should be disqualified from the world forever like Cornette tends to. There is a spot on nearly any card for nearly anybody. He know what he signed up for, and if he wants to bump until he breaks in half because he isn't physically built to take it, that's on him. He knows the risks. On the other hand, it seems like the only reason he's there is to make Jungle Boy look bigger by comparison. And being that Marko is the size of a nothing, he shouldn't be getting in all kinds of "effective" offense. He should be getting his ass killed most of the time, and pulling off a few miracle maneuvers and letting one of his teammates get the save. Kind of the opposite of the "agile big man" thing that has now honestly overpopulated wrestling. It was unique psychology when you have the occasional Bam Bam Bigelow or (drastically younger) Vader. But now, when you have too many big guys putting on cruiserweight caliber matches (though they're not the only place, I'm looking at WWE in particular here as a whole, and not just at Lee vs Dijak: the next forever feud), what's the point of the cruiserweights? Not saying they should all be lumbering and slow powerhouses, but they all shouldn't be going to the top rope multiple times in a match or diving to the outisde, either. Him being competitive with Pentagon and Phonenix in a two on one scenario is the kind of shit that takes me out of a show way more than knowing one of the announcers is wearing a mask off camera but still doing a good job with the important thing: his voice. The argument of him being "fun to watch" is countered with it being better served against folks who aren't supposed to be the top of the food chain. Him here is like a Young Bucks match: they're a good tag team, and can put on a good match, but any criticisims they got over the years about doing too much shit they have doubled and tripled down on - first to rebel, then to be stubborn, and finally to the point of it's all they know how to do and can't have matches where there aren't 800 finishers used that mean nothing, and bodies flying everywhere every six seconds. To have him go out and show off is squandering any value he would have to take bumps and gain sympathy. And he wouldn't even have to take nearly as many as he does to achieve that. He could still be "fun to watch", but he shouldn't be "competitive" with anyone who isn't James Ellsworth. |

While they were doing that, their US indy matches continues to be about high spots and selling merch because that's what those crowds wanted to see. |

I wish they just worked proper fucking matches, cuz I've seen them be good in Japan too. I've loved AEW so far but my one big gripe is how every match turns into a video game with the moves and near falls.
