I'm not a fan of the draw to end the show. It works in some spots, but just not a fan.of it at the end.
To me personally, Pac is best guy they have. I know booking wise there are many talents AEW is going to put ahead of him in the pecking order, but to me Pac is firing on all cylinders. I would love if they pulled an audible and went all the way with Pac. |

Just finished watching... another good show from AEW.
My random thought.... I had pretty much forgot that Pac/Mox was happening until they mentioned it, very late into the show (but there was so much else going on that I didn't mind). If it was WWE, they would have constantly been telling us that was the main event, and they definitely would have replayed what happened last week at least 3 times through the show. Kind of "refreshing" that they didn't replay it at all, and just talked about what happened. |

I liked the ending
They've advertised time limit draws will happen sometimes -- it's the opposite of WWE advertising something like HIAC and using a non-finish, you know going in sometimes a draw will happen and it was the right call here as both stayed strong |

I think the draw was a great call. Dramatic finish was nice. But now after Full Gear these two can work a program together to see who gets the W.

Only problem I had with the draw was that you seen it coming. Was watching with a friend of mine that isn't a wrestling fan and he knew it was ending in a draw. The attack beforehand kind of backfired on them with the time limit I think.

Predictable isn't always bad if it's the right decision to move things forward. It can be done better in execution next time, but the point of TV is building to something bigger. Giving away a finish to such a marquee match on free television IMO would be the wrong move.
Maybe they need to not bother with draws? But, it's an oldschool NWA television staple and see where they're coming from. |

Only real issue I had with the time limit draw was the show abruptly ending afterwards and not letting what happened simmer a bit more before going off the air. They managed to get in a shot of Moxley being visually upset over the draw but it was very brief.
The post-show stuff would have been a better way to go off the air since it gave more time for what had just happened to sink in and also advanced several storylines at the same time. |

I haven't watched the most recent dynamite -- but from what I've watched, it's an exciting product with a great atmosphere, far trumping that of NXT's.
However, I wish they'd slow down a bit. Too many nearfalls and formulaic high spots. They should take a look at what's happening on Powerrr. |

If the crowd is going insane for most of the matches AEW is putting on, why should they change the style? imo... It will get played out if they keep doing the same thing over and over, but I think a lot of the match styles are very different anyway, unlike WWE where like 99% of matches feel exactly the same. And I feel like they're smart enough to adapt if they feel like the crowd is losing interest in their style(s) |

This high spot shit happened with WWE. Eventually, you hit a ceiling with how ridiculous you can be in a match and fans stop reacting. Even now, they're killing themselves for fans who'd still cheer if they took it down about 5 - 10 notches. And if you haven't noticed, while the fans are hot because the product has tremendous equity, they ALWAYS go two or three near falls too far and the crowd is never as hot for the finish as they should be. My problem is the fact that instead of near falls happening because they make sense and tell a story, it's just a tickbox because 'that's what you do' in wrestling. At the end of the day I'm a fan of what AEW is doing. They get an 'A' from me just for being fresh and exciting and giving us a vastly superior product to WWE. BUT, that doesn't mean they're beyond criticism. Last edited by Ol Dirty Dastard; 10-25-2019 at 07:31 AM. |

plus the whole point of nearfalls is for you to buy them. If you just expect 7-8 per match, it becomes much more difficult to get sucked in. The fans in attendance play along because they love AEW, but at home it gets pretty tiresome.

Agree... that's why I stopped watching Lucha Underground... just got "burned out" on that style....
So far in AEW that style seems mostly confined to the tag matches though. (Though when you have a card full of tag matches is when you run into problems) |

I don't mind multiple near falls... it's one of the most exciting dramatic aspects of wrestling. I do however roll my eyes when the near falls are after crazy moves that are like 10x more impactful than a wrestlers finish.
Also I don't like all wrestlers using the same finish in every match, that's bullshit. If I were AEW I'd book like 3 guys to use a finisher the majority of their matches, Jericho, Kenny, and Mox. That would make their finishes SUPER over. And eventually you'd have a guy who kicks out and beats them with a move that becomes their finisher.... There are so many amazing moves already performed in the AEW ring, so many of them could have been finishers... so yeah it's a personal preference and kind of a fantasy of mine, it won't likely happen but I would love it. |

Also I LOVE Cody, dude is the best babyface in wrestling by far right now.... but the disaster kick has GOT TO GO. He does it so poorly, it looks so weak... I just wish he'd scrap it or decide to do it better somehow.

I want to talk about the moment where Jericho has locked him and his Inner Circle in that VIP area and Cody motioned to his buddy MJF and MJF handed over scarf and Cody wrapped is hand in it and reached back and shattered the glass. I though that moment was so fucking cool, so bad ass, I popped so hard.... I just had to say that. Awesome moment.
