No Hand was not supposed to be HYDRA at all. In fact, she seemed to have figured out HYDRA was in SHIELD a looooooong time before Fury was even aware of it. And now she's dead. OR IS SHE!?

I think she is. Pool of blood. Unless of course, she somehow reaches T.A.H.I.T.I. as well. Or, Ward used Night-Night guns with fake blood dispensers.
