Just so ya know, for future reference it's M'aiq. He is by far one of the craziest people you'll run across, as well as (suprisingly, since his role is so minor) one of the longest running characters as he's been in Morrowind and Oblivion as well.

Damn it, I didn't know your housecarl could die. Was considering marrying that chick. Not to mention she was carrying a ton of loot which I had to abandon.

I found out you could marry the housecarl after I had already married the chick from that trader store with the weird brother.
She died in the battle against the Stormcloaks. Didn't bother to reload and do it over. It felt sort of more epic when I killed Urlrich and then gave him a makeshift Pedigree dragging his body up and down with force. That was awesome. |

If you ask enough after joining them, the Dark Brotherhood eventually gives you a side contract that involves the housecarl of Falkreath. I'd also like to know if anyone knows if killing the housecarl of a hold (not the steward) has any affect on the Thane of (whatever hold) quest for that area, as all I've gotten from attempting the Falkreath one after having offed Helvard for the Dark Brotherhood are the same "The Jarl has put out a bounty on the dragon in Ancient's Ascent" 3 times, and one of the times was from talking to the barkeeper in town instead of the steward. So frustrated with this right now.

I played it for a few hours. Pretty fun. Will not buy, might buy in like 3 years. Fun to burn the people with fire in your left hand.

My character was naked, with no potions, no weapons and no armour because I left it all at home in Whiterun while I went to Winterhold seeking a smelter.
A dragon attacked at the point in time. I hid like a naked little coward. |

He didn't show up when you fast traveled somewhere? I've had companions disappear like that before, and they usually showed up when I fast travel.

Did you tell him to wait somewhere? I lost one of mine and had to wait up to 3 days and it said they got tired of waiting and went home.

Find them and buy their services. Check the inn in Whiterun, should be a guy there.

Anyone you have a brawl with at an inn will usually become a follower. There are several followers for hire, (soonest one is at the weapons shop in front of you at the entrance to Whiterun)

Got this today surprisingly, forgot though that you can't use a verification code twice which sucks.
edit: Still downloading, incredibly slow! Last edited by Londoner; 12-25-2011 at 08:45 AM. |

Well this is fucking shit so far tbh. Start seems to drag on and on, and for some reason my settings are stuck on master level when i was just searching to see how many levels there were, now can't fucking change it. (even started a new game to see if it changed back to the beginner level but no luck, still stuck) Also my computer doesn't seem to be able to handle the speed very well even though there should be nothing wrong with it. Oh well.
edit: Fixed the level problem, gameplay seems abit better on a different resolution but needs to be better. Not sure if its just my computer though. Last edited by Londoner; 12-25-2011 at 12:17 PM. |

Just saying I've been in a similar situation to that..
You prolly got to go back to a previous save.. I just lucked out when it happened to me cause you get this teleportation spell in the Shivering Isles.. Haven't seen anything like that in Skyrim.. |

Whenever I've gotten stuck, I usually spend a good 5-10 minutes trying every single degree of movement to get out. If all fails, just revert to my last autosave considering I let mine save on all possibilities.(Wait, Rest, 15 min menu)

Yea its pretty weird..I remember being ambushed by skeletons and I panicked and fell down a little cliff inside the cave. I checked every square inch, crawling and jumping against every wall before I got stuck inbetween rocks. Ah well ..wont mind doing that mission again

I've been playing a fair bit but I'm not sure I even enjoy the actual gameplay that much...just getting stuff done, finding stuff, unlocking things. The combat is absolutely woeful, I really hoped they would have improved it from Oblivion, better than adding a few finishing moves anyway. At least bring in an element of timing and weight to the proceedings. Combat is always such a massive letdown in Bethesda games.
I have Conjuration levelled up to 100 and have Illia following me armed with several staffs I've passed on to her (Chain Lightning, Fireball, Dread Zombie and the Sanguine Rose) so most battles end pretty quickly when I summon a Dremora Lord. |
