Thoroughly enjoyable show minus the unprotected chair shot bullshit.

Overall a good show (I missed the preshow).
AEW has some kinks to work out but for a 2nd show where they are already at is pretty impressive. |

Moxley vs Omega is going to be great once AEW gets around to doing it.
Double or Nothing was the better of the two AEW shows but for a B-level show, tonight was very entertaining overall. With a few more events under their belt, AEW will probably get all the kinks out and find the right balance for their pre-show so its not as hit-or-miss in quality. |

Chairshot to the head was really dumb but people are talking about it. So, they got what they wanted out of it.
Do they have heels and faces? MJF seems to be a heel but he ran out quickly to see if Cody was ok. Omega is a face right? But he did a heel like asswhooping on Mox at the end. Also, he was doing dickish heel mannerisms with the drumsticks. Will be better with a weekly TV show to show why things are happening. |

Yeah every Cody match for AEW (including All In) has been so good... Always the most emotion-inducing matches of the show

Cutting away the camera after chairshot for Cody to blade unseen. Improving.
Stream was perfect for the entire night. |

I'm trying not to go full fan boi on AEW but it's hard since we've been accepting shit for so long.
I hope it pushes WWE to be better.. I hope Paul and Bischoff can do some magic to make that product better because I'd rather watch backyard wrestling at this point. |

Hopefully unprotected shots is something they don't do again in the future. Not worth the health problems in the long run. |

Great show. Listened to Cornette's preview of the show a few hours before to get ready for it.
Daniels vs Cima was good but went a bit long in my opinion. Thought it was a good first match in the sense that it didn't top anything else on the card and was a good match. Was really impressed with the women's triple threat match. Worked it well with Nyla Rose being the power house that the Joshi girls had to overcome. Riho is going to be a star in their women's division. I like the draw being used in the Cody/Dary match plus it was a great match. Holy shit at the chair shot by Spears though afterwards. Haven't seen something like that in a while and it was brutal. They did say away from it either with the multiple replays. Cody is great and giving it his all for this company. Looks like Cody vs Spears at All Out and I'll be there. 6 man was a good match and i figured Kenny was going to fo a video games thing. I just wish they would have got Roberts to do a "Finish Him" before the One Winged Angel. It was cool what the did with the lights out stuff before the unsanctioned match. Set the scene for tge match, kind of wish they went a bit further and put down a new canvas to hide the AEW logo. Still a hell of a match and the Kenny payback after was great. Will be at a NASCAR race during Fight for the Fallen but will watch it the next day. They've set up a bunch of stuff already for All Out though with Jericho/Page, Kenny/Mox, and Cody/Spears fueds so I'm ready for it. |

Corny had to duck out after the debacle with the CEO guy being dangerous, untrained and breaking out in laughter fits during the match. I don't expect a glowing review or any review unless he ignores that match and continues.

My star ratings
Well I won't leave you waiting in anticipation. You want to know how good the matches were, and I'm here to tell you.
Opening Three Way Tag *** 3/4 Wow, Private Party was fantastic. I loved that Best Friends won as I think they are a very pushable team. Bates's butt in shorts * Eh, the only thing good about this match were the late 2000's style skimpy outfits around the crotchal regions of the rasslers. Librarians suck. Jabailey vs Nakazawa ** 1/2 This shit was hilarious. Obviously the work was bad from Jebailey but holy shit I was laughing. I liked it. Daniels vs CIMA *** This was a solid show opener with good rasslin. Daniels is still very good but he does have Matt Hardy back so... Rose/Riho/Sakazaki ** 1/2 I didn't love this match but there was some good work, the Japanese girls were too unbelievable for me in working over Rose. Page/Boy/MJF/Havoc *** 1/2 Solid stuff but a little shot. However it was so well put together, giving everyone a direction afterward. Cody vs Darby Allin **** 1/2 Match of the night as far as workin and story goes. Cody was incredible, one of his best performances and Darby came off like an immediate star. I love the GF barometer and Darby was a star to my GF at the end of this. He can be a main guy in AEW after this. Great match to establish the time limit draw being a thing in AEW. The post match angle was what wrestling hasn't had in so long. True confusion. Is he hurt? Well thankfully he wasn't. But that was some Von Erich level concern for Cody. Wonderfully done. Elite vs Lucha Bro's & Laredo Kid *** 3/4 Really fun match, it had some small hiccups though. I am a little "over" the Lucha Bro's... they don't sell anything so it's just move move move. Some of this match was on turbo and it just went to fast. I love the Bucks and Kenny, I wasn't too hot on The Mexicans in this match but still, it was a great match. LIGHTS OUT MOX and JOEY **** I loved this. I'm 32 but when I was around 14 I discovered the Death Match scene via my exposure from HAVE A NICE DAY. I became a tape trader and collected tons of Japanese Death Match classics. As I've gotten older my taste has changed greatly and I don't really get into the death match stuff, unless I see it live and I won't lie I mark the fuck out, because I never got to see that stuff when I was 14 live, so I have a lot of nostalgia marking ability. This was fucking great to me. It escalated and escalated until I literally screamed like Joey Style OH MY GOD! When he dropped poor Joey on his bare feet on the tacks. I loved it. I cannot rate it higher than Darby and Cody because what it took to pull off their match I have more respect for. But, again... fucking loved this. And I LOVED seeing Kenny get rabid on Mox. Such a great beat down from him, with the return at the end to hit the double arm DDT on the stage. Great ending. Also I wish Kenny would stop dying his hair to skank girl who bangs hot topic employee at the mall look. |

Also I want to say that I don't think Adam Page is going to curate an organic following in the way that AEW would like and by the end of the year will be a heel. He's not Kerry Von Erich and I think that Tony thinks he is.

The fact that they had MJF, who is seemingly in character 24/7, have to run out and act concerned for Cody to push across that the situation was “real”, also miffed me.
MJF should always be acting like a dickbag heel to everyone forever. |

We saw a side to MJF we've never seen. Something deeper than the schtick and that was important. It was almost as important a moment for MJF as it was Cody and Spears. |

I hope they really make a go of it, it all seems promising. I'll watch if it works out. I hope they reach a TV deal in Canada (heard they approached TSN, which hasn't had wrestling on it since '06 when WWE switched)

I took this as a minor free show just intended to get guys over and not blow their load on the major matches before All Out. Sounds like it over-delivered though. That gives me a little more hope that they’ll be able to manage weekly TV well.

I guess I need to watch darby v Cody on the stream today because I dont know What you guys saw in that match that the live audience didn't. I would honestly say that match went over the worst with the live crowd out of every match other than the librarian vs allie. Had the least crowd reactions and tons of people complaining about darby and how he dont belong in the ring with Cody. Large group right behind us had been hyping darby all night....literally they all apologized for some reason to everyone around us after the match for being mistaken about him.

MJF is apart of the Nightmare Family though. Don't agree with the last part you said. That's kind of like a WWE thing where all the heels are friends just because they are heels. There is no personality to them other than bad guy. With MJF he can be a dick to everyone but it's already been set up that he's trying to impress Cody but once Cody leaves the room he's degrading Pharroh or Brandi. Makes his character so much better when he can play both sides of the coin. Plus when Cody finai catches on to what he's doing that program will be great. |

Attendance was v good. Almost a packed house. Few empty seats in the tier above the door entrance to the arena but there were enough people milling about on foot that it could have easily been a packed house in reality.
