1) According to Crytek, the idea of next gen consoles being compared favorably to a current high end PC is basically "impossible" with Crysis 3 and next gen dev kits forming the basis of their claims.

Downloaded the 30 day trial of RPG Maker XP from the official site. I've no idea how to do anything.
When I had RPG Maker on my PS1 it was a basic drag and drop game etc but this XP game seems to require coding and everything. I can't manage to figure out the most basic things.

I don't think that's from the Agetec guys, right?

I remember putting 24hrs into RPG Maker 2 (PS2) which translated to about 15mins of gameplay. But shit; I had branching dialogue, a working shop, a boss battle, secret items, and even a mechanic where picking fruit from a private garden sent you directly to jail and taxed for your trouble (something that required a lot of time and Event mixing gymnastics).

Part 3 was eh. I was gonna screw with Fighter Maker 2 as well but I heard it was too limited for the ideas I had back then (more like Fighter Editor). I still should have tried it longer than 30mins, though.

Back then, I was around 11 or 12 and I had dialouge and events etc.

This XP game is from the official site. It's not by Agetec but by someone else. Not sure if it's a new name for Agetec or if they sold the rights to someone else.

RPGMXP seems much more of a "pro" tool in terms of what you have to do but the results can't possibly be better than what we saw on PS1.

The PS2 game had game examples of what you can do, just a simple scenario made with the game's options. Surely this program you're dealing with has something similar?

I can't access a demo to see how well a game can turn out. I can't even get things to appear in the play test. I genuinely can't figure out how to do anything. I can open menus but no clue what 99% of it means. I can place things on the map but that removes the grass around it unless I place it on another layer but then that doesn't seem to do anything.
I can't add any characters etc. Everything seems to be done through actual coding.

Tried to DL IG Maker and my pc has gone slow. Now I'm pretty paranoid something was in there that I didn't want. Going to go scan.

I wouldn't have to DL things to my PC if they released Maker games outside Japan. God forbid a game comes out for consoles that doesn't involve gunning down people with accents.

Either way you're dealing massive script work. You're gonna have to square with that.

The site seems legit, I don't think they put something in your PC. Check anyway.

The IG Maker looks nice, some good export options there. May check out the fucker eventually.

I still haven't beaten Revelations or even thought about 3 probably done with the series once I beat Revelations. I wouldn't even worry with that one if I hadn't already bought it. The 2 before that didn't really do anything for me and the little I saw of 3 didn't seem that interesting either.

Yeah that's one reason I've been putting it off so long. Just want to clear out my games laying around though so I hope to get to it when I finish Mass Effect 1 & 2 of course at the rate I'm going there will be 4 new AC games and a couple more ME's by the time I'm finished.

ME is one trilogy I need to complete. Never even played the 1st one, but I know I need to. And me being the way I am with games, I would WANT to start from 1 so I can keep the same Shep (with decisions & consequences) through the entire trilogy. That is a summer project, after school dies down

I want to play Far Cry 3 also, but waiting for the price to go down a bit, have too many games to play already.

Grand Theft Auto 5 being pushed back really fucked with me, as I enjoy playing them in the summer time.

Feels pretty standard so far, granted I'm not far into it and chose soldier so I don't really have many "abilities" that the other classes have, but it hasn't felt like anything special from any of 100 other games.

Patch coming for Far Cry 3 that adds a new difficulty level, and also allows you to reset outposts.

Finally got around to finishing the main story, and damn was it good. Great ending.

WWE's next game, now running under the 2K Sports label, will indeed be called 'WWE 2k14'. As suspected 2K will allow Yukes to do the heavy lifting, while 2K themselves will supervise THQ's old branch that usually handled the localization and 'WWE-ing' of the product (specifically Visual Concepts who are often on point). It will also launch in the usual Fall time frame. I believe they are on that shit as we speak, and may have something to show next E3.

So there you have it, WWE 2k14.

Yeah, they're talking about merging Yukes with Visual Concepts too, so it will be the next gen versions before we even start seeing what creative direction 2k take the game.
