Ed Asner is awesome as Goodness.

However, something about the voice work seemed rushed. And they adapted the book near verbatim with one extra scene and a few extra one-liners. Public Enemies took many more liberties and it worked for the most part. Here the scenes seem disjointed and the story-boards were not constructed to make up for it.

Daly and (understandably) Conroy didn't seem as in to it, despite Asner and Glau doing good work. Darkseid was good in hindsight, but I really kept expecting Ironside's menacing arrogance. As you said you do get used to it.

Overall good work, loved the Furies and the Amazon scenes. And Diana's always cooler than you'd think she'd be. The comics rarely get her right.

I have to say, Wonder Woman is much better in animated form than she ever is in the comics. Maybe it's just because the animated series and movies actually showcase how awesome she's supposed to be in a fight. And also because they rarely ever use any of WW's villains, who are all pretty lame with the exception of Ares.

When does the Batman Year One animated movie come out? That's the next one they're doing right?

I loved Under the Red Hood so much I wish they'd do as many as possible.
I think Hush, Dark Knight Returns, Long Halloween, and plenty of other Batman GNs are do-able in the style of Under the Red Hood.

They've got two coming out before Batman: Year One.

They've got All-Star Superman and then Green Lantern: Emerald Knights which is apparently an anthology about various GLs.

So Zack Snyder is on the top of the short list for director on Superman. Other candidates are Duncan Jones (Moon), Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and Jon Liebsman (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning)

Moon was incredible so maybe Duncan Jones is the right choice, but for some reason I'm really feeling Zack Snyder on it.
As long as the script and casting is correct he could probably pull it off well.
Not a big fan of 300, but I ate Watchmen up.

Dunno. I'm sure it will be enjoyable, but it seems to me like something would get lost in animating All-Star Superman. Quietly's art suited that so well, but it really only works on the page. Which is kind of a moot point, since the animation takes nothing from quietly's work, as opposed to Public Enemies which had hints of McGuiness' style in there.

Going off the trailer, it just doesn't seem to have the "charm" that really made All-Star Superman special.

I'm really looking forward to All-Star Superman, as the comic is honestly my absolute favorite Superman story of all time. However, I do think that it's going to lose some of its retro-Silver Age charm without Frank Quitely's art style. Still, should be miles ahead of any of the other Superman movies they've done (Brainiac Attacks was horrendous, and while the fights in Doomsday were great, the rest of it was pretty meh)

Aronofsky would be great. He'd probably be my first choice of the directors being rumored, or Snyder.
Outside of those 2 I'm really not feeling the other candidates.

Affleck is probably my 3rd choice. His directing efforts have been excellent. I'm not sure how he'd do with this type of movie though.
Perhaps it would be awesome.

The Nolans are making the decision right? I trust they'll make the right choice.

Preacher is a fucked up book. Love it to death tho. Read it. I'd probably call it required reading for non-superhero comics, right up there with Transmetropolitan.

Y'know, I actually would not mind a Wonder Woman TV show. It depends on a lot of things, obviously--who they cast, how it's written, etc--but WW has some great potential for episodic TV. She's strong enough to do bonafide superheroics without running into the trouble of her being "overpowered" like Superman, she's not confined to a single city like Batman (or really, almost all of DC's heroes), and her villains are weird enough and varied enough that it wouldn't feel like she's just fighting different variations on the same bad-guy theme.

X-Men being in Upstate New York doesn't count towards that. You're still right, but I'm just throwing that out there.

Mainly characters like Spidey and Daredevil stay located in the Big Apple. I feel like Marvel has a decent amount of heroes headquarted out in LA or on the west coast too.
They seem to change things up over time though, so yea basically everyones been in NY.
I think that's mainly because Stan Lee and his collaborators were all New York kids, and that was what they knew.

A lot of Marvel heroes are also very global, and spend most of their time all over the country/world and not hanging around the area they're based out of. The Avengers, Hulk, X-Men, Fantastic Four don't really have a city.

You obviously know all this. I guess the point I'm trying to make is I don't think the Marvel universe really revolves around NY primarily, even if it sees a lot of action or is a lot of heroes "home." Mostly the heroes who work alone seem to be of NY, but just looking at the Marvel universe that's really not the core of the character list.

I thought Punisher was mostly in NY, but he does get around. He debuted in NY against Spidey, that's for sure. Never really followed Ghost Rider much.
I thought he was all over the place but mainly out in the west. That could be bullshit.

Blade was heavily set in Boston early on.

I just watched Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.

Really good and some great fights. I didn't see the thing towards the end coming at all. Andre Braugher did a good job to I thought.

Is there a sequel planned from this storyline like how Superman/Batman: Apocalypse was a sequel for Public enemies? I think I'm getting Under The Red Hood next. The Trailer for looks incredible.

They really should do my idea which is doing The Killing Joke with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil. Then that can be Mark Hamil's swan song if he really desires.

Warner Bros. Television will produce a TV series featuring Wonder Woman, written and produced by veteran showrunner David E. Kelley, who’s produced such hits as Boston Legal, The Practice, and Ally McBeal, according to Deadline Hollywood.



The new series will be shopped to networks soon, according to the report.



Wonder Woman could be seen as a replacement for the longrunning Smallville, currently in its 10th and final season (see “Smallville Ending”). Human Target is set to return for a second season (see “Human Target Reacquired”).



Warners has not been able to get a Wonder Woman film off the ground to date. Joss Whedon was attached for a time (see “Whedon Off Wonder Woman Film”) and Warners never had a new director (see “Warners Seeking Wonder Woman Helmer”).



In the comics, Wonder Woman has a new costume this year (see “Wonder Woman’s New Duds”)—no word on the look for the TV Wonder Woman.
