That said, all the wrestlers getting on his ass (Ali, Serpentico, Richochet, Ospreay, etc) are all definitely better wrestlers than him. But that's never been or ever will be Brauns appeal. Being a jacked up genetic freak is. There's a million of those little guys who can work circles around him but they'll never be the spectacle he is. Beginning with hyperbole does not automatically give a person carpe diem to just say whatever they want with no consequence, under the guise of "just joking".

Braun works with all these guys so Im sure he didn't actually mean it and was just working, but a general rule in wrestling has been to not bury people because not only is just bad form and lazy, but if you end up being booked to lose against that person, then you look pretty stupid too. It really is a silly argument b/c different wrestlers work differently and it works for them. Of course the bigger guys aren't going to work the same as smaller guys. Also, fans like different things so no one approach is superior. But the one common thread I find in wrestlers are over regardless of size or in ring style is charisma/personality. If you can excite the crowd they'll be into you.

Agreed. I’m not defending the spot monkey style. I think Ali and Ricochet should be pulled up too. But why draw attention to the Meltzer bullshit? It’s like Hogan burning the Observer in WCW. Nick Aldis put up an IG video yesterday saying that he was leaving the NWA when his deal was up in January due to creative differences with Billy Corgan, and he said he felt the promotion was getting too embarrassing to be a part of any more. He then deleted the video.

Today it was announced the NWA has suspended him and pulled him from all events, presumably until his contract is up.

Basically treating a perfect throwback wrestler in Aldis the way they have whilst also pretending to be a "throwback" wrestling promotion really puts into focus how hypocritical they are as an organization.

Unfortunately I can't see a real perfect home for Aldis anywhere else. Guy is good but so are a lot of other people who have central roles in promotions.
