Suckers? Yeah, we're real suckers for sticking with an OS that hasn't had numerous major security flaws exploited in it over the last year or so.
Have to wonder what MS think of this... |

Destroyer, The reason 98 hasn't had any info about security flaws released is because Microsoft no longer support it.
As a Network Administrator Windows 2000/XP is a hell of alot more secure than 98 will ever be, I could get into details but really can't be bothered. 98 is good for PCs that arent quick enough to run 2K/XP, but if you can run better, why stay in the past? I'd say microsoft doesnt really care, as they are just bundling the microsoft patches with a bunch of other stuff. |

XP would probably make my PC explode anyway. Old piece of crap that it is.
I was refering to stuff like the numerous worms that didn't affect 98 and down, just the NT family and XP... |

It's an old Creative Live card.
I dont think theyve made a driver for that card in ages. At least, I couldnt find any. Recommend me a good sound card incase this sound card cant be fixed. Nothing too fancy because I dont think an over the hill sound card in nessecary. |

wow, you're right
I just checked and they havent made drivers since may 2000. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...tby=14&order=1 That page has creative cards on it, I recommend them. Nice and user friendly. I'd go for the audigy 2 PCI if you can afford it, with a good set of speakers it would own. It's $72. Or otherwise go for the Audigy ES, it's the one between the live and the audigy 2 as far as age goes. Still a good card. |

Well to start things off the Audigy 2 will have better driver support for more years to come because it's newer
I just asked a friend who has had both, and he says you wont notice the difference. Get the Audigy |
