Idk why Cody gets a lot of heat for being HHHesque. People just wanna hate. Cody is great, sure he's a little cheesy at times but still a great star and the break should do good for him and the haters.

For the most part, Cody has been good in his spot. Not hogging the limelight, and has help build up new guys who are gonna be main attractions. Idk what else you could ask from a guy in a top role his. |

Malachi Black looked like an absolute start tonight, btw. They aced everything about his debut. I wonder who’s face he’s gonna kick off at All Out. Also, there’s gotta be a feud lined up with Darby. Two sides of the same coin, as they say. The vignettes would be amazing. Maybe that’ll be the next PPV program for Darby after he’s done with Punk.

I think it's because he's supposed to be some "dark, mysterious" guy with weird face paint and a cool scary entrance mask, but his wrestling gear is just like generic "normal" kickboxing guy shorts...
I guess he just wore shiny black tights in WWE, but never felt like it "didn't fit" his character |

Was out last night so I watched on DVR this morning. So much great stuff on this show, was into most everything aside from Jericho/Juvi which made for a nice novelty but they were pretty much working in slow motion.
Six man tag was just chaotic fun. Those trios matches in AEW never seem to miss.....don't want to overdo it with titles but a trios tournament at some point feels like it needs to happen. The Hangman/Dark Order/Elite angle got even more interesting than it already was. Seeing Uno and Stu actually hold the rest of the group back to try to honor his wishes really got me in the feels. Hirsch looked awesome and I'm so glad she got to get a win on Dynamite. Malakai just knocking Cody the fuck out was fantastic. |

I wanna know what Hangman had to say dammit. I think it’s pretty obvious we’re getting Christian v Omega at the PPV with Omega going over. Anybody else think they’re gonna save the big Hangman win for the Arthur Ashe show? Or push it out even further to Full Gear in November? I could see them trying to pop a rating if the rumors that Danielson is debuting on the grand slam show. Keep that rumor swirling, book the main event with Paige v Omega for the belt and see if you can top your best rating.

It's tough to say because Page's wife is due to have their first baby this year and we don't know how much time he's going to want to take off for paternity leave. Mox dropped the belt and left for a month. Who knows if Page will want more time but I imagine AEW will be pretty accommodating especially given how stacked they are/will be more stacked after Punk and Danielson.

Juvi vs Jericho was the shits but at least they finished strong. Wardlow being the next challenge is disappointing. Hopefully the last one is interesting.
Fun 6 man match. Horrible new name for everrise though. The Elite promo. This is stupid. The Elite are stupid. Their whole wacky heels gimmick is better suited for a midcarder that you have no long term plans for. Not the top champions of your company. On one hand, they're trying to tell a serious story with Hangman and the dark order, while simultaneously acting as cartoonishly goofy as possible. I realize they're going for obnoxious, but they're taking it so far, that it's difficult to take them seriously as champions. It's infuriating because in New japan, they were 10 times more credible than they're being presented here. Because all the dumb shit was left for their youtube show. And you know what? I enjoyed BTE. Because it was separate, and I could appreciate it for what it was. I can't enjoy it when it's part of a (at times, at least) serious feud for the most coveted prizes in the company. These guys busted their ass to create a company, against all odds, to succeed in the modern wrestling market, and they're using their top titles to have circle jerks over their comedy routines. This is the kind of shit that is holding AEW back. Christian vs Blade was a very good match. Should of ended with an unprettier as Christian's spear is fucking awful. Edge is back. There's no reason to pay tribute anymore. Feel like Christian needs to take a page from Jericho and reinvent himself. New finisher, New attitude. Feel like people wouldn't feel as worn out by him if he did it. Hoping cash gets better soon. Feel like FTR will have a better match with PaP than they did with the bucks. Great job with the beat down of page, Kaz, and the dark order. Too bad I couldn't take it seriously due to previously mentioned hijinks, and the world champion wearing a fucking cookie monster t-shirt. Maybe some people can tune out the silliness, but it's too contradictory to me, and my brain just isn't wired that way. Dan Lambert segment was good. Hoping he brings pro wrestlers with mma or amateur experience, and not just mma guys who have never done any pro wrestling. The worst wrestling matches I've ever seen were when njpw brought in mma guys. Johnson got in too much, imo. Some guy who's only gotten wins on dark should be squashed in 2 minutes. He shouldn't be testing one of the champions. Still, it was a decent match. Saw Layla Hirsch in Stardom a few times. She's better than most of the women on aew's roster. Not sure if she's actually signed with them. They should remedy that if not. Malakai Black stuff was great. Every bit of stop-start mismanaged crap the guy went through in WWE has been washed away on a few short weeks. Great job there. |

To each their own. I personally think Kenny and The Bucks as irredeemable, obnoxious assholes are easily the best they've been in AEW.
For all that X-Rod or Vastardikai say about "EVPs getting pushed lolololol" they were getting criticized from people on here for losing as often as they did in the early days of AEW. "These guys made the company and are supposed to be some of the top guys but if they keep losing they won't feel special", now they're winning big matches and getting criticized for that. They can't win. But character-wise it felt like they were just....there. Bucks had a stint of doing a half assed heel turn only to be face the next week, constantly the "will they won't they?" shit and it made me lose interest in them. Kenny on the other hand spent most of 2020 in a team with Page but he didn't have any real discernable character, just show up and do good wrestle things and call it a day. His gradual turn into a mega douche and then slowly roping the Bucks into it really worked for me. Their characters might not be to everyone's tastes but it obviously is effective heel work. Crowds are rooting for Hangman to beat Omega vs. saying "meh, fuck the Elite" and changing the channel. Page feels like a bigger babyface for having The Elite to work opposite than he would be without them, and that's what good heel work is. It's sorta jarring to see heels actually being heels in this company after years of WWE conditioning where faces get booked to be even bigger assholes than the heels themselves. The bigger thing though is everyone can see the endgame and that the heels will, eventually, get their comeuppance which is how it should be. Page will beat Omega for the belt, don't know where, don't know when, but it will happen. A hot face team will eventually knock off the Bucks too, my money is still on Santana and Ortiz once they finish their business with FTR. |

Like I said, I would probably enjoy the gimmick if it was a midcard act that wasn't meant to be taken too seriously. But it's a bad look for the top guys. It's like a movie that can't decide whether it's a serious drama or a comedy.

Also, I never criticized them for winning big matches. They're some of the bigger names on the roster and they should be winning most of their matches.
As for Omega, it wasn't his character that I had a problem with. He's always had a unique personality, which furthers my point that he doesn't need to be so over the top to stand out. People's main problem with omega at the start was how he was booked. He was the biggest name outside of WWE, but after the brief moxley program he wasn't really booked like he was special. He's not come anywhere close to the level he was at when he won the iwgp title, neither in ring, or how he's been booked. |

To each their own. I’ve enjoyed the Elite’s heel work because they’re at least invested in it and it doesn’t come off fake or disingenuous, like when Matt tried cutting serious intense promos despite not at all looking intimidating. The douchebag heel role senses then way better. Omega is goofy as shit and I don’t mind it like I did when I was watching him Japan. Probably because for whatever reason I took NJPW a little more seriously. I don’t think there’sa wrong answer here.

You’ve got HHH, then you’ve got JJ, then you’ve got C. Fuck Cody, and fuck anyone who lies about him being anything other than a mid-card drama Queen and glory hound. He’s a boring wrestler, a misguided promo, wrestling mind wannabe. AEW sucks. Who would watch this shit? You’ve got Aleister Black, that fucking beacon of charisma, pretending to be an MMA fighter with eye make-up on. It’s steaming garbage. And you all eat it up and help perpetuate this awful, awful content. |

Everything about this promotion reeks of try-hard small dick energy. Fuck you all. AEW sucks. Its fans suck. It’s helping make this the worst period of wrestling fandom, something which used to fucking matter and now doesn’t. Thanks a fucking lot, AEW — at least I get Kenny Omega and Malakai Black! Yay! Fuck.

Hey, Noid. Remember when you ranted about AEW fucking up by throwing the title on Adam Page even though it hadn’t happened yet because it was clearly GOING to happen so a preemptive “fuck AEW” rant was justified?
It looks less and less likely to happen. If it doesn’t happen, will you admit you were wrong for shitting on them for a thing you projected to happen? Long time listener. Thanks for taking my question. |

Why does everyone feel the need to defend this horseshit? They’ve even got people like you trying to catch criticism in weird and petty gotcha moments based on semantics and deliberately missing the actual point of an argument. IF they wanted to push Adam Page, they are doing it wrong. IF they don’t push Adam Page, they’ve made a wrong decision. There is no way this company looks good either way. And that’s not a trick of of twisting logic, that’s just their own fucking fault. |

Who is better and how are they better?
MJF was never hotter than he was prior to the Cody feud. MJF won the match and then floundered for months. Apologists for this company went from saying he should be the company’s third champion to saying he isn’t ready. Because they didn’t make him ready. Because they can’t. Brodie Lee wore pyjamas and was the leader of the worst faction of all-time. He was never better than Wyatt Family Harper. Just because he won the TNT Title in a boring squash doesn’t mean he’s better off. Losing to someone doesn’t make people care about them. And Cody does this squash thing regularly it seems, probably because he’s got no other moves to actually putting someone over. I can’t even remember who was even on that list. Was Ogogo on there? How’s that going? I can’t even rack my brain for someone who could even fit on there. Wow, great job getting them over, man. And no I won’t “calm down.” Stop projecting a mood onto me and using that to try and dismiss what I say instead of actually making a point. That’s all these forums are. A bunch of idiots who know this shit is awful deep-down trying to tell off people for pointing it out. |

Darby Allin was another name on there. He got over because he does crazy high risk stuff and lays it in. Good little worker. What’s this? Cody hears he’s getting over. Better lose a match to you and raise your hand. Enjoy your mid-card title, haha.
Eddie Kingston is on that list too. I don’t even remember them having a match. Way to go, Codes Rhodes. Eddie Kingston is known for being Moxley’s friend and the goober who sold their production botch like death, haha. |
