Breaking: WWE signs deal with Fox Sports - Order WrestleMania 36 for $60
(or you could just pay $10 for the Network or do a free trial...)

I wonder if this will be the new model going forward after WM. FS1 will be airing the KickOff shows now as well.
Would you spend $60 a month for WWE ppvs? I know I wouldn't. |

Combination of both, but I can see this being more desperation by Fox. ESPN has begun to show Wrestlemania on Sunday nights since the Coronavirus shut things down. I can see Fox believing that a deal is imminent between ESPN and WWE and trying to do whatever they can to stop it.

It's good for WWE and FITE especially. I'm sure more people will order on fight than you'd expect.

Kind of dumb to even order from them considering its still way cheaper on the Network.
Maybe if Mania got pulled from the Network it would make more sense but then WWE would be viewed as being a very greedy company during these difficult times. |

I'm not going to watch, but it's a smart move by them. People will order it that way. They're still figuring streaming services out, and lots of people want to streamline without too much commitment. Yeah, the WWE Network's free now, but people are going to weary about signing up and being pinged with costs later.

An extra year is more than enough time to work out the monetary issues between WWE and interested parties. Plus not have it feel like it was a rushed decision because of the timing of Vince's reveal announcement. |

Now I just need to find these people and sell them some $10 bills for $60. I will put Trump’s picture over Hamilton’s to sweeten the deal. |

Meltzer speculated that if this year's Mania does a very low buy rate, its going to really sour FOX's views on WWE since they were the only one to really bite on WWE's offer for Mania.
Also seems Vince is currently asking for over $150 million as the basis for any future PPV streaming deal to be made. |

I'm sure FOX knows what they are getting. SmackDown is performing well for them. They'll obviously know that there is a free option somewhere. I don't think anyone is going to be panicking.
