There are way too many people in WWE
Look at Takeover
No Io Shirai, Kairi Sane, Oney & Birch, Keith Lee, Velveteen, Candice LaRae, etc. And they are just signing more and more people. What are they gonna do when they have to start calling people up to main roster? Sure there will be some spring cleaning as usual, but unless they break some kind of record for group future endeavors, they're still going to have a problem. |

WWE doesn’t even spring clean anymore. You could cut everyone in the Andre Battle Royal and no one would be missed. Well, maybe Chad Gable.

Agreed. It's like a "less is more" mindset. With there being so many people that I'm supposed to care about, there's not enough time to allocate to everyone, thus, I don't really care about anyone.

The indy scene would get a shot in the arm from 5-10 of the flounders being released.

Talent would also get something out of moving around. There is money to be made elsewhere, and if you're not important to the company, well, you're unlikely to make the big money there anyway.

I was convinced they were doing Velveteen Dream vs. Adam Cole. Guess not.
I sort of like that they can space things out a bit. Better than Styles vs Nakamura/Joe for 4 PPVs in 3 months. |
