Same with Brawl Out, that press conference doesnt happen that way if Hangman is in the building. Anybody else remember how Phil vehemently denied having anything to do with Colt Cabana being removed from AEW? That doesn't really hold up when Phil is having Hangman, Ryan Nemeth, and Matt Hardy removed from Collision because he is such a bitter piece of shit, right?

Adam Page was the most unprofessional fuck ever for that ambush all that time ago. He doesn’t really deserve the Collision treatment of being made to look better than he is. Matt Hardy is a total POS and has been very vocal against Punk in the past (look up the video of a loaded Jeff Hardy talking shit and trying to take credit for Punk). Ryan Nemeth apparently made a jab at Punk on social media so Punk isn’t going to go out of his way to curate his career.

It’s funny that The Elite cry about Colt Cabana being messed with by Punk when they have the record of sabotaging guys. And Britt Baker with the girls. With the Punk/Cabana stuff it wasn’t so much whether or not Punk did it. It’d make sense for him to make it a condition of bringing him in. It’s about what actual bullshit it was and how it was fabricated to keep AEW from improving because they’re insecure about their work.

A hilarious thing about all this is how Punk‘a awful UFC record hangs over this. No one wanta to be the next guys that try and fuck with Punk and take the embarrassing L of getting their ass handed to them by a guy who can’t fight professionally. CM Phil also got Christopher Daniels, the respected veteran and HEAD OF TALENT RELATIONS, kicked out of Collision also. The reasoning being that Christopher Daniels was a witness to the backstage fight, and IF Ace Steele (who threw chairs and bit people) is banned from Collision, so should Christopher Daniels.

Being present is the same as throwing chairs and biting people, according to Phil...

If Tony Khan gave CM Punk any kind of authority to kick his roster or management out of the building than he is a bigger mark than there ever has been.

If CM Punk wants to go full fledged heel and this is his way and its been worked out then it will be subtly brilliant.

If this is just CM Punk spouting shit on the mic because he can and he's stupid and is brain damaged enough from his UFC fights and is just taking shots at Hangman and Ziggler's brother while also complaining about being "chopped" by the House of Black while kicking out Matt Hardy and Christopher Daniels then HAHA... Tony Khan is fucked... this does not end well, AGAIN! He's put himself into a whole lot of legal jeopardy on a bunch of different fronts

I'm not sure which to believe because I frankly would never have left CM Punk back into the fold unless The Elite were okay with it. If they weren't and he still did it, HOLY FUCK that man is stupid and would probably explain the "They took a vote and everyone flip flopped and were unsure of what to really do" contract negotiations.

Re: Christopher Daniels: If he actually did get “kicked out” (more reliable folks than Meltzer are saying 2 of the rumored 4 are true), it’d be useful to know what his role has been in the fight/the backstage drama, considering he is Talent Relations. If he was unprofessional and has been part of the problem, then it’s pretty understandable why Punk might call a shot and keep him away.

It’s also possible he was sent home because there weren’t plans to use him.

I still think it's funny how the Cabana shit gets brought up when they were already not using the guy well before CM Punk coming to AEW was even a thought. They were dragging out a supposed drama of "will he/won't he" join the Dark Order bullshit. To say "the crowd went mild" is overselling it. It didn't even look like HE cared about the angle. Hell, until that Jericho match, I thought Colt got the Chavo Gurerro treatment.

A thing that has always been funny to me about it is the fact that, yes, CM Punk was pretty delusional thinking he could just jump into something that people have spent most of their lives working towards... but at the same time, it isn't like he went in off the street with zero training whatsoever. He put in work. Just not the same amount of work someone who has amateur wrestling backgrounds and years of grappling and standup work ahead of him.

I personally could start going to a boxing gym and luck my way into a professional heavyweight fight. I'll prob'ly get my ass handed to me in said professional fight. I will also be able to easily take out any shithead in a bar who thinks he's tough and thinks he can outbox me after seeing me eat shit on a PPV. Both things can be true.

An 0-2 UFC record is only funny in the context of him fighting in the UFC, not throwing knuckles with some dicks in a backstage fistfight. That is an absolute false equivalence whether you "like" CM Punk or not.

But the worst part of it is exactly how all of this "news" just keeps showing up for no reason, and then any clarifications or retractions are kinda slow to show up. Starts with the instant clickbaity "CM PUNK HEAT WITH RYAN NEMETH" and then the whole "they talked it out and it wasn't as bad as we made it sound" just kinda slips under the radar. Punk gets the headline, and saying how horrible he is gets the attention. Hit job done.

Phil was mad that Ryan Nemeth was saying hello to people at the hotel before the show, but did not say hello to Phil.

So apparently Phil shot down some spot Jungle Boy wanted to do using real glass.

Punk got in his face (because of course he would act tough to Jack Perry lol) saying that "they don't do that kind of stuff on Saturday night" and "go back to Dynamite". He also claimed that Jungle Jack had a tantrum, although I must have missed that since it didnt happen at a media scrum.

So the guy who wants no confrontations or drama has gotten into the face of 2 wrestlers, got the Head of Talent Relations kicked off the show, is cancelling people's bookings, and is still taking shots at the guys he claims he wants to apologize to and do business with.

Oh and he was mad at House of Black and scolded them because they chop too hard.

I mean, who ever could have imagined this kind of stuff happening???

I mean I agree with not letting Jungle Jobber do it for safety concerns, but the way Punk supposedly handled it isn't the best. He shouldn't be handling any of these situations all things considered. TK should have been the one to tell him no, or maybe Daniels.

According to the original report (which came from SRS, so it probably has an anti-Punk taint anyway), numerous veterans, including Tony Schiavone, had an issue with the glass thing. Punk was nominated to talk to Jungle Boy. It was JB that threw the tantrum.

He’s done a great job heading up Collision so far. The biggest mistake is probably inviting the indy-minded dolts onto the Collision side. Why would you use a Matt Hardy, Adam Page or Jungle Boy there? Keep it the logical wrestling show.

Dalton Castle is a great act, are his back injuries legit? Kind of feels like if they are that might stop him being more than he is sadly. He would fit well in the TNT title hunt I reckon.

Punk vs. Joe... Meh. Segment was ok but I just dont care that much tbh.

Main event was pretty fire but anytime Darby or Christian are in the mix your probably getting something solid or better so the math checks out.

FTR vs. Bucks is gonna be mint, probably my main reason to purchase the PPV.

Was it just me or was the Hobs vs. Miro thing awkward? Hobbs facials which are normally pretty good were weird as hell.

Agree to disagree I guess, I think its an entertaining gimmick and his in ring work looked like that of a competent guy trying to be flamboyant.

I don't think hes the second coming of Austin or anything but as a mid card act hes eye catching, commits to the gimmick and can work. Could make a nice foil for OC as a heel as well but I'm not sure how over the top flamboyant man as a heel works in this day and age.
