I will say this. Experimenting like this right before Mania when people start watching again isn't going to much aside from reinforce the company's beliefs that people like what they're doing.

The only thing that is going encourage them is for people to stop watching and stop buying ppvs. Like if they take a hit for Wrestlemania because of all of this, then we can say for sure whether they have really turned off even the most casual of fans.

I was going to mention Tazz being ECW champion in the Champion vs Champion match (that WWE spent all night hyping, by the way) that Hunter totally had to go over in, killing any heat, interest, or momentum in what could have been a potentially awesome Invasion precursor. Bad idea: Bryan loses to HHH in an obvious screwjob, next up Divas championship give people a chance to calm down. Halfway through the Batista/ Orton match Miz shows up at ringside and just watches and a few minutes later Bryan shows up beside him and starts talking with the Miz maybe pointing at a spot and smiling and then finally have Punk show up and the 3 basically DQ the match beat the ehll out of both and leave. Could tease them doing the same thing only to have it cost Lesnar the win and giving it to the Dead Man forcing either a rematch for the RAw main event or a reason for the Taker to return the following year.

Remember when CM Punk initially hinted that the Authority sent the Shield after him, and clocked Triple H in a melee only to get superkicked, hinting at a possible feud that would now make sense? And in reality, the only reason for feuding with the Shield was to put Roman Reigns over and legitimize him as the dominate member of the Shield while creating a rift within the group? Yeah.

Remember when Benoit was the hottest act in the company, and closed the show at Mania, only to be booked as an upper mid card champion while Triple H and HBK dominated the main event feud?

Remember when Triple H pedigreed DB at SummerSlam, called him a B+ player, and had him on the losing end of every feud he's been involved in since, thus making DB the biggest star in the company and giving him the headline Mania match instead of an old oaf like Batista and boring heel like Orton? The memories.

Yes, but I don't think Hogan gets a whole lot of defenders, and HBK wasn't on the brink of super stardom either. It's not like that buried an already established future HOF, and killed any momentum for them/kept them from being in a better spot ala Punk, RVD, Bryan, Booker T, Benoit, etc etc.

Ugh...what a disaster that was and what happened to Warrior after?

Hogan stepped on and buried a lot of wrestlers. Vader, Piper, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, nearly all the young guys in WCW and deliberately making guys like HBK and Undertaker look bad.

I dunno, it seems like common knowledge to me.

I haven't been watching. The thing is though, that if CM Punk is financially secure and just wants a "break" while still doing what he wants, TNA is a potential outlet for his ideas. Also, who doubts that TNA wouldn't jump through hoops to make it happen? They were so desperate they hired Kurt Angle when he hit rock bottom with the drugs and family problems. They spent a lot of money on Sting and Hogan that I doubt they really had to spend and bent over backwards for guys like Christian and Anderson to make them look like bigger stars than they actually were.

If CM Punk isn't at Wrestlemania, I wouldn't write him off as going to TNA even if for just a short while. Or at the very least being seen backstage visiting with friends.

The ONLY way I could ever remotely see someone like Punk going to TNA would be if he got creative control for himself AND got to bring someone in to run TNA creative like Paul Heyman. And I'm not ever sure if that would be enough to lure him to the even bigger shit hole that TNA has become lately.
