True, but when you look at guys like Austin and Cena, you could see by the way they rose to the championship that they would be mega stars. Noone on the current roster shows that promise.

Every day Johnny Curtis is not on the main roster being groomed for something big is a day WWE is throwing away money.

It will probably be a clusterfuck ending of some sort and the show will revert to Superstars 2 after the first month or so of trying to use the major players to garner attention.
Still... fuck WWE for throwing this match away on the ION network. |

We will see how it turns out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I was hoping they would continue teasing sheamus and punk and have it be a ppv match after one of them lost their title

I said a few weeks ago that one of the problems with PPVs was that we've seen every match because every match is given away on free TV nowadays so why pay for a PPV. For that reason they shouldn't have Sheamus and Punk do more than randomly cross paths on occasion but never get physical and then build it all up to a match.
The very night I said it, Punk vs Sheamus was booked for Raw and I was angry. Then it was cancelled after Punk walked out on it and I was relieved. Now it will be taking place on ION's "The Main Event". |

Seems like they just "gave up" on coming up with a legit third option.
First two are both great. Can't decide. |

They have people who are ready now/can be ready really soon without such a low age restriction. They wait too long for most of the guys they have, then go "Fuck it, it's too late for them, they're too old!"
WWE plays too much into the "franchise QB" philosophy to be able to find "that guy". What I mean is, how many #1 picks end up being the face of the football team and megastar passing machine? It's usually the 2-3rd round pick that nobody gives a shit about that steps up and becomes "the man" eventually. With that, someone like a Ryback or Ryan being pushed to the forefront simply based on their age or look is kinda stupid. They're forgoing incremental builds, and "churning out" approximate 5 year money machines that can replace the last on the promise of trying to find that one guy who will make them rich for the next 15-20 years. They even proved this logic fallable by building who is now "the man", John Cena. They didn't think he was ready when he got the nod... he was just so damn over they gave him a shot, and that was because it was despiration time in finding a younger guy for that spot. Luckily, he had the ability and charisma to keep it rolling. Then, they seemed to alleviate that issue by bringing in younger talent and building them slow. Pushes that could eventually make it believable that guys like Cody or Kofi or Dolph can be top-tier talent. Then, what happens? They get dropped into midcard hell or demoted to tag-teams that have no real consequence (Rhode-Scholars didn't need to happen... two guys who are pretty over enough as singles heels thrown together for no good reason... as opposed to two other singles competitors not doing anything that could be thrown together as heels for the sake of even getting on TV). Instead, of making touches to polish what they have, they sink time and effort into guys like that Tough Enough winner that we never heard from again (Levine? I really don't remember), or Jayne Cobb.. er, Jackson Andrews. They obviously failed, but boy, they were young and looked the shit for the 30 seconds they were around, didn't they? Pretty soon, chasing that grail will put them back in the position they were a few years back, when the Cenas and Ortons- ironically, the "experiments",- were pushed because they needed guys to step in for the 'Takers and Rocks. |

Dunno, look at the success TNA had with the Knockout division, if they actually put any effort into the divas they might get something out of it. Not like they can't find the time to showcase them on Raw anymore. Same thing with the Tag Division.

The third one is the best in my opinion. Nice and clean. The other two are just... dunno. Maybe because they're white shirts with black print.

Loving the concept of having a huge tournament to determine new WWE Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders. Reminds me of the huge ’02 SD! tourney for the then-SD! exclusive WWE Tag Team Championships (ya know, the ones that don’t look like somebody shat out a penny?)

I like what they are doing with tag teams, at least on Smackdown. It finally gives the mid card guys some value.

Tag teams don't really draw money per se, but it adds to the overall enjoyment of a show. Creates less dead time. Pretty stoked for this tag tournament. Not a bad match in the tourny. Kidd/Gabriel vs Ryder Marella and Cara/Mysterio vs Epico/Primo should both have some nice spots and you can't go wrong with the PTP vs Kingston/Truth. I'm guessing Truth turns on Kingston after their match and PTP end up losing to Rey/Cara setting up a Rhodes Scholars vs Rey/Cara finals, which should be terrific.

Same with the cruiserweights. Let them exist in their own little world and have their own title to feud with and let someone like Tyson Kidd be "on top" technically. They can't realistically have the idea of Tyson Kidd main eventing PPV and headlining WrestleMania. Why not let him exist in his own world where he can be a "main guy"? You've got two major segments a show completely devoted to an entire division. The rest is devoted to your main roster, guys on top, guys working their way to the top, etc. It's nice and neat and everyone's happy. |

I'd say the problem with the Divas Division is that so few of them are integrated into the rest of the show. During the division's best period, a lot of the Divas were directly involved in the men's storylines--Lita with the Hardyz and later Edge, Trish with T&A or Jericho/Christian, Molly Holly with the Hurricane, etc. The fact that they had more presence on the show than "now it's time for our one Divas match where the face Divas all tag against the heel Divas" meant the audience was more interested when they were in the ring.
Shit, look at how over AJ has gotten since she was incorporated into the angles with Punk and Bryan and whatnot. Sure, she's kinda being shoved down our throats now, but she got over because she was actually included in the rest of the show, instead of just corralled into the token Division that they spend so little time pushing. |
