I work at a cult video rental place
apparently I am pretty much going to get paid to watch movies. so "stoked".
still in Uni part-time, so should be an alright situation. I can take any five films out at once. Please post five that I should have probably seen already here. I've seen A LOT, but sometimes people are like "What do you mean you've never watched ANY Star Wars???" and it is embarrassing. PS - I have watched some Star Wars now. |

I'm not going to suggest movies. You'll get plenty of that.
I will say this, though: I've had that job. To this day, I maintain my time at Videoland was the best job ever. EVER. Even with the fact that our glass windows faced the sunset, and the AC unit was placed in a stupid location (enclosed in the porn room). Behind the desk became an oven from about 6p until sundown. Always melted our impulse counter chocolate. Even after embarassingly having to try to cover a row of porn I was batching into inventory with my arms and body as your stereotypical family of 4 just happened to walk in, and their kids were JUST TALL ENOUGH to be eye level with the counter to see every single positon on every shread of box art, and then not have the common sense to move the kids away from *right there* before wanting to stand around and ask me about all the new releases. We had no dress code. We had very little corporate oversight (only 15 properties, period... and we were always one of the top 3 profit wise). We stood around and watched movies and shot the shit with customers, could "rent" whatever we wanted, and got to buy new stuff out the catalog for slightly above cost. Membership cards were their own driver's licences. It was fucking glorious. Enjoy your time there, Rhi. Enjoy your time. ^_^ |

Blockbuster went out of business.
Netflix is in Canada, but Canadian Netflix is AWFUL compared to American Netflix. We carry a lot of foreign and rare/hard to find stuff... Also teachers are pretty regular customers and old men that don't know how to use the internet for porn. |
