I used the Durandal to craft the Dies Irae. Which I then used to create the Eternal Blue. Over 300 damage on critical hit.

I crafted the Rhava but I didn't end up using it. Too worried about it making the game too easy like the Criss did Symphony. |

Second most powerful. The Alucard Shield was a goddamn monster.
Addendum to one of the first things I posted about sword swing speed gradually getting faster after repeated use: looks like something else that was *tweaked* in an update. Maybe it wasn't supposed to happen in vanilla, but it doesn't with a fresh save on the current build, which I started on an alt account (achievement hunting for MS rewards). |

If you're not using Bloodbringer as a familiar, you can use it as a weapon for yourself.

At first, I figured it was leveled like SotN, and wasn't available until it was ranked up. Then, I was under the impression that it was a separate item I had to pick up since it wasn't there while the familiar wasn't being used. I assume at this point that it was just part of the chest bug, since I have reverted to vanilla several times during the course of my playthrough (picked up a couple of missing Hair Apparents and a few other things like a few foods that otherwise didn't show up from chests that were already "open" at my first arrival to certain particular screens). |

Switched up my weaponry. Going to give the Greatswords a rest awhile. The Gae Assail is currently where it's at. Excellent farming implement.
And because I didn't mention it before, but found it funny enough to comment on: I love how the "Assassination" tech is basically the Alucard Sword attack, but more precise. |

Interestingly, it looks like the treasure chest bug may be negated on a "New Game +" save. I got a quest to register that didn't show up the first playthrough in spite of me actually completing it, but I want to actually get back to the bromide part before I make with the celebrations.

Jesus, some of these "no hit" boss medallions are a pain in the ass. In particular right now is the Glutton Train, since I have to go back through the damn cutscenes and level just to reach the boss to try again.
On the other hand, it is a good way to try out other shards you may not think to use otherwise. Kinda like a Mega Man run. Speaking of shards... 100% bay bay!!! And unrelated to any of that: the Adrastrea gun makes me feel like Darkseid. I'm still on the spears for practicality sake (I can use the dash instead of accelerator shard if need be), but I bust that sucker out every once in awhile. |

Just be aware that the enemy damage scaling around the map is the same in the areas that you would normally get to later in a standard Miriam run. Like, you can jump of to the Oriental Lab in about 5 minutes after you get off the ship, but Zangetsu doesn't recover health unless you use a save room... no health recharge over time or ability to use found items outside of any HP/MP ups scattered around where they'd normally be. However, you can level up faster if you brave it early on. Lastly, be careful. Included with having the full run of the map, it includes the boss rooms Miriam needs the keys for. Want to know what happens when you walk into the Old Warhorse's room while only at like level 3? Fuck around and find out like I did. Wasn't pretty. |

Platinumed this.
This could have gone a lot smoother if some of the drop rates were increased a bit and some of the nonsensical stuff was taken out. But, while I get this was a crowdfunded passion project, the latter part of that is out of my control. |

Fair enough. I didn't mind the 8-bit stuff. The OD thing was sillier to me, but still no sillier than other games over the years where you're dipping actual letters in water to reveal codes to progress or changing controller ports to beat bosses.
The drop rate thing I agree with you on. Especially after the noted issues that stemmed from the "bromide bug" that required a rollback to vanilla at the time, and one could clearly see that drop rates were greatly nerfed all around. To anyone who wasn't in on this game right out of the gate, it is something a bit less noticable (still annoying, though), but to an early adopter, that felt like unneccessary artificial padding on top of the drop rate cut/1600% price increase of Alkhest. |

The OD fight was a pain. But the Standstill shard he drops makes all the difference. Combine it with some other shards, the slot machine, revenant, and carpenter fights were a breeze if you needed their shards or items.

I downloaded the "Boss Revenge" update a few days ago, and gave it a quick shot (didn't have a lot of time in that particular instant). I like the concept of the reverse boss rush, but it feels weird to relearn yet another set of commands/attack functions for each of the characters. I tried to use Bloodless, and got stomped by discount Richter v1 in short order. Can't complain, because this is yet again another free middle finger to Konami, and I'm here for it.
Her glide with the umbrella did make me shout "I'M MARY POPPINS, Y'ALL!!!" though, so there's that. |
