I guess you have to visit travel stations or something.

Nah, gives a better sense of scale to the world if you can't just fast travel all the time. Especially if they give you plenty of content to explore in the world itself. They probably want people to come across more content all the time, because when you fast travel everywhere you start to rely on it and it takes you out of the world too much.

They didn't take it out cause obviously forcing people to run EVERYWHERE would probably piss off a lot of people. But making it harder keeps people actually in the world, and judging by how much content they've bragged about so far, they probably want people to actually experience it all.

They should leave that up to the player. The average person that drops 60 bucks on this will want to explore the world regardless. Makes no sense to buy it and just do the main quest and nothing else.

Don't think the world of Oblivion will even compare to this one though (hopefully). They are touting so much 'random world content' that I feel you would miss a ton of it if you fast traveled everywhere. Found myself abusing the fuck out of Oblivion's fast travel because there just wasn't enough unique stuff in the world to make me care about finding it.
It's still there. You just have to pay to use it. In other words, the longer you play the game, the more frequently you'll be able to use fast travel. I'm sure toward the end of the game, when you've already ran from A to B and E to F so many times, you'll have the money to be able to fast travel there like it's no big deal. |

I can see that being the case. I actually kinda like Fable 2's fast travel system where you know exactly how much time goes by when travelling from point A to B and that in game activity (mostly involving NPCs) has progressed accordingly. Oblivion has time progression, but it only basically affects what time of day it is when you get there based on distance travelled.

Bethesda reveals the game will heavily rely on Steamworks from Valve instead of just normally using Steam although they didn't reveal exactly will be done but Steam cloud saving and integrated voice commands appear to be likely.

Bethesda hinted killing non-playable characters will have actual consequences in the game and can impact how the rest of the game goes on because a revenge system is a new feature for the game.

Bethesda announces all the DLC for consoles will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 for the first 30 days before also going to the PS3. Microsoft was willing to pay while Sony refused so Bethesda gave the exclusivity in return.
http://screwattack.com/blogs/ScrewAt...for-Skyrim-DLC Also revealed is a brand new system to help combat bugs and glitches that have been a well-known issue for game engines created by the studio. Quote:

Really have no complaints about what I've seen from this game so far. It looks like they really spent a lot of time on it. Would have been 'meh whatever' had they done nothing to the engine, but it looks beautiful IMO. I'm sure it could be better, given what technology has proven it can do already, but I think they did what they could while still hand-crafting the world and giving it a level of detail you don't often see. Looks like a truly 'epic' game that will live on for years after it's released.

I know people who put 300-400 hours into Oblivion, so they'll be absolutely thrilled by this game. Hell, I may even put in about half that if it turns out to be as good as it looks.

Steamworks is awesome if only because other venues can sell the game for cheaper prices than even Steam has and they still have to transfer to your Steam account.

Skyrim is going to be incredible. Do we really need to discuss it that much more when we've already seen all there is to see so far?
Once it hits shelves and ends up on my PC, THEN we're talkin. |

i couldn't be anymore excited for this game. just....FUCK. initially i was concerned about the removal of attributes but once you look at how the perk system is working you'll have a more indepth role play expirience with more varied playthrough than traditional number manipulation can offer.
not to mention its looks like you will FEEL like a badass. |

Gonna get it on PC. Or pirate if you will. It deserves to be paid for, but I don't have the flow for it after buying BF3 and doing these PC upgrades I just did.
Either way.. it is going to look incredible on my rig, and I am even more excited for it now. |

The dark elf is pretty sweet too. the charecter redesign is pretty immense for all classes tho. even the wood elf looks like he could be a bad ass. replaying oblivion now and its funny how warm and fuzzy everyone looks. then you get skyrim and everyone looks like they will eat your face.

This looks bloody good. I'll wait until I've played Dark Souls out before getting it as I don't have time for both. That'll probably be in about 3 years time.
I need to get Modern Warfare 3 as well so I can shoot my chums in the head. |

I just got a terrible glitch in Oblivion that wiped a lot of my character enhancements out. I lost all my special level rewards (Night Mother's Blessing, etc) and abilities (I was either very or completely resistant to pretty much everything except normal damage), effectively making my juggernaut of a health stealing battlemage into a kinda sorta bad ass warrior type with some nifty fireballs and invisibility tricks. I am so not impressed. I sunk 300 hours into this shit and the game is just less fun now. I'm making my way through the main story pretty quick, but I'm just not enjoying it since all that levelling was so I could just be a mega bad ass through the main plot.
