Ok so looks like I was probably wrong....this may have been a big mistake by MJF unless there was an emergency or some other legitimate reason for him no showing

I feel bad for Wardlow if MJF isn't at the ppv...

I guess now there's more concern about him no showing the ppv because he is booked a flight out of Las Vegas for tonight!

Tony Khan should dress Luther up as MJF and just have commentary pretend he's always been MJF this whole time

Interesting. If this is what it looks like, can’t wait for the same people calling Ali and Naomi/Sasha “unprofessional” to be professing how smart MJF is.

He isn’t smart if he’s walked out. He’s been one of the best booked wrestlers on the roster and is constantly featured while also wrestling very little. I can’t remember his last match after the ppv street fight with Punk.
It’s been mentioned before his size prob hinders him greatly in WWE, as does their cookie cutter approach to how they book heels and script promos. He’d suck there simply because everything that makes him great gets taken away. Not to mention the apathetic crowds. Hot crowds are part of what makes his segments so good and he isn’t likely to generate that kind of heat in WWE as a watered down wish app version of himself. Not to mention, as previously stated, he loses all leverage in negotiating a deal of he walks away or burned bridges with AEW. He’d be an idiot to tank his biggest bargaining chip. There’s no other promotion that’s going to pay him at the level AEW or WWE can and he’d get far less exposure. I’m very interested in what the issue. I can’t imagine it’s booking. Other than the ill advised Jericho feud, he’s been booked almost to perfection and he’s about to blow off another big storyline that’s been building for years now. And make a guy while still maintaining his top spot as #1 heel. I also have little doubt he isn’t going to be the guy who ends the seemingly inevitable Punk reign that’s prob starting tomorrow. Maybe he didn’t wanna lose his 3rd ppv match in the last 4? Maybe he doesn’t wanna put over Wardlow? Maybe it’s a squash match and he’s not for that. Or maybe it’s just money. Nonetheless what a dire situation Tony has found himself in. |

And I'm waiting for the people who were like "fed bad" and said it's all WWEs fault that Sascha and Naomi bailed to talk about how shitty AEW and TK must be because MJF walked/no showed entirely and may yet bail on the big PPV.

I'm drawing here but it does seem like Cody could have been the leader that MJF would've followed to some degree in AEW. Since Cody has left, MJF has been expressing this unhappiness. I wonder if the lack of Cody is partially to blame for this MJF explosion.

The scene in my mind playing out has the under current of MJF's financial desires and challenges from Tony. But also I can see he shows up and learns that he's going to get powerbombed 15 times and pinned and was like "fuck no I'm not". He has a pretty poor PPV record if I recall and I could see him not wanting to take a clean L. Or at least wants to do an ending that keeps the program moving.

Yeah im thinking he may not have wanted to get wrecked at the ppv given how much he’s jobbed. Which is fair given he’s supposedly a pillar.

I could take a fuck finish with MJF going over Wardlow. The story could continue, I can see a case for that, I'd certainly listen to the argument. But more people will say it's time to pull the trigger on Wardlow and let him fly. Ultimately you can do that, and still continue the angle if you'd like.

If it's all a work, it's working! AEW's hardcore fanbase are nerds like us who still post on forums! We are living for this shit right now, we have tubes in our throats feeding it to us like baby on Mothers milk! If this whole MJF dissention was a work, what a job it is.

I've said this before in the other thread that MJF will no doubt end up in WWE some day and unfortunately I see it happening sooner rather than later especially if this is legit not a work which I'm now guessing it is real. He clearly wants to go to WWE and get a huge contract or use that as a bargaining chip so AEW pays him a lot more...right now I believe it's about wherever the money is but regardless if he gets what he wants from AEW, he will still land in WWE at some point in his career

he will be nothing in WWE. He's "too small" and definitely not gifted like WWE's small people (Danielson, ummmmm..... Balor, probably others)

Yeah especially now...his character would have been a great fit back in the day in like the ruthless aggression era when Vince started to see the smaller guys has more prominent i.e. Benoit winning the world title etc.

Unlike WWE where there was zero doubt in my mind that Sasha/Naomi was legit... there is a lot of doubt in my mind about this MJF thing because it seems like something they would plausibly do, even with "pissing off" fans going to the meet and greet and having to give refunds

If Tony Khan is hoarding all the profits and not paying his best wrestlers their fair share, then I can’t in good conscience give Tony additional money by purchasing tonight’s pay per view.
So if anyone could please provide an illegal streaming service, I will watch tonight’s show in solidarity with the workers. ✊🏼 Thank you. |

This isnt a good look regardless of if it is a work or not. If its not, then MJF looks unprofessional and AEW looks incompetent for allowing the relationship with one of their best talents to reach that point.
If its a work, I'd say its even worse. Both MJF and AEW look unprofessional for not delivering on what the fans paid for. And for what? Its already the most anticipated match on the card. MJF is already the most despised heel and Wardlow is the most over babyface. So what would this even accomplish besides betraying the trust of your fans? |

Where did you get that from? I was just posting my thought off of what you were saying. I wasn't explaining anything to you... You seem to have a knack for trying to pick an argument with me about everything lol unless you actually did take that post the wrong way but I really don't see how you got that from what I said

And that was just a general thought, it wasn't even directed at you specifically. I've read your posts, I am aware you are very knowledgeable when it comes to wrestling so I really don't understand where that train of thought comes from...

AEW still promoting the match as of this morning and I haven’t seen anything that says mjf flew out Vegas. I do think he’d be justified in not wanting to show up and get squashed. But he should absolutely lose.

But if it is a work, there's no way they won't follow through with the match. If they intentionally have him not show up first match with Wardlow and that decision would be beyond retarded
