WWE Friday Night Smackdown 4/10/20 feat. The Monster Among Champions and other stuff & 205 Live I guess
Show started.
Strowman vs. Nakamura for Braun's first title defense sounds pretty interesting if it happens. |

Wasn't Asuka on Raw? I know it doesn't matter and who gives a shit and all that, but I guess we're well into that thick of talent just jump wherever and whenever for no reason.

Not sure if something wonky happened with the editing or WWE used two different cameras for these tapings. Action seems to randomly go from FOX style frame rate to something more smoother whenever they switch to a certain angle.
Think the same also happened with all the other empty arena shows on the blue brand. Women's tag title match was pretty good overall. |

Kabuki Warriors involved their automatic title rematch clause despite WWE keeps forgetting that's not supposed to be a thing anymore.

Elias concert stuff used to work better when it had the running gag of him constantly getting interrupted.

Ziggy doing a poor job following social distancing rules. Got way too close to Cole and Graves faces during his outburst.

Ending was sort of abrupt but Ziggy vs. Tucky was decent.

Replay of the ending to the SD tag title ladder match at Mania 36 makes Jimmy Uso look even more dumber than when it happened live.
Not only was he the one to unhook the belt holder, he was also the one to send Morrison crashing to the floor with the belts and neither him nor Kofi bothered to grab the belts before it happened. |

WWE doing another singles Triple Threat match for the tag titles.
At least when it happened the first time that was due to unforeseen circumstances, aka The Miz being a dumbass. Doing it again when its possible to have all the teams back is just dumb. Forgotten Sons being one of the post-Mania surprise debuts for the main roster. |

Why do the Forgotten Sons have a lava lamp visual for their entrance side trons?

Guess no more surprise callups tonight if the big reveal for Bayley's next title match opponent was Tamina.
This year's batch of post-Mania surprise debuts was very weak if that's the case. |

Strowman vs. Nakamura was meh.
Fiend vs. Strowman feud for the belt should be pretty interesting. Bray calling back to Strowman's past with the Wyatt's was a nice touch. at Strowman at the end. This week's episode was pretty decent overall. Still nothing much happened in terms of really interesting stuff but the pacing/flow was a lot better than in recent weeks for the blue brand. |

If Strowman beats the Fiend then that's two losses but if The Fiend wins then it was dumb to have the Fiend lose to Goldberg...ESPECIALLY if they plan to have Reigns win down the road.

I've thought The Forgotten Sons should be called up to the main roster for the longest time. Either that or be entirely repackaged/let go. The act doesn't work in NXT. The guys are solid enough, if unspectacular, so just give them a shot to freshen up things on one side and give it a chance to sink or swim in a new environment.

I must say, I'm quite enjoying the new side of Nikki Cross with the now evidently always open vest.
Nearly snapped in half from all the hot in the WM Women's Tag Title match and last night's rematch. |

On the bright side, though, she's not the RAW Women's Champion, so at least she doesn't have to worry about being in matches with wreckless Queen Kong herself, Nia Jax. |

I donut understand why they announced this interim Cruiserweight championship tournament, then decided to wait until NXT next week to lwarn more about it? Why not 205?

Interest in wrestling is deeeeeeeeeead. AEW was the nail in the coffin. No one gives a shit about even freshly laid turds on the grass, and it's made people realize not only how horrible WWE is, but how horrible anything that isn't WWE is.

That certainly doesn't help. Even if the crowds weren't the best or anywhere near lively, they were...something. But I think it's kind of exposed the gentrified nature of everything too. It's kind of holding up a mirror to the disengaged audience at home.

Absolutely. As the industry leader they have affected everything though. Everybody works the same. People try to copy them, whether it's conscious or not.

I would say ROH and PWG were the inspiration for the “big match” style we see today in WWE, AEW, and Impact. And that itself was taken from New Japan and other Japanese feds.

Well, yeah, you're right. The indies informed it, because they have so many guys from the indies. But now that's kind of become even further proliferated because of WWE's exposure of it.
