Does wrestling need to be Thanos'd?
Does wrestling need to be Thanos'd?
It's just too hard to keep track of it, there's so much out there, it makes being a fan depressing...hate to see people lose jobs but I feel like the only way to make wrestling manageable to current fans and/or ever get new fans is to make it accessible....by killing off most of it. If the fanbase could shrink to 800k-1 million people and there were maybe like 2-3 shows a week (Dynamite, Impact, ROH) that would be really easy to keep track of...and just have some indies here and there and New Japan/AAA/CMLL. Should wrestling be Thanos'd? |

I think the internet needs to be Thanos'd for wrestling to be good again.

In a way I kind of wish wrestling was episodic, like Lucha Underground was. It would be so much easier to keep track of.
I love American Horror Story, huge fan of it, but it's only 10-12 episodes a year so it's easy to be a fan of for me. Wrestling would be perfect if it was just 2 seasons a year of 10-12 episodes each for something like RAW or SD, and then Impact/AEW/etc did their thing as well. That would be really easy to keep track of as a fan. |

Big E is amazing!
Like if WWE, ROH, MLW and AEW went under and we just had Impact I would hope they would find a way to sign Big E.

If all the people I don’t like were killed, that would be pretty cool.

Maybe wrestling should just be killed off entirely.
To be the generation that made it more popular than ever in the late 90s and also the one that killed off completely, that would be kind of empowering. |

Maybe all that should be left of wrestling are new seasons of Dark Side of the Ring and like, IDK, old videos of the AWA or something.
That would be really easy to keep track of as a fan. IDK. |

Looking at their ratings from 2 years ago, WWE has sort of Thanos'd half their audience already so maybe this trend will continue and make wrestling manageable again soon.

Why don’t you just not watch it? Or just not watch some of it if there’s too much

Lucha underground was def the best way to watch wrestling though. It shouldn’t be taken seriously and should be a completely characterised show with episodic formula and a season long arc.

It'd be less effort on my end for the industry to collapse than have to change a habit, so I'm more in favor of death.

WWE def seems unbearable. Haven’t watched in years but every clip or “Highlight” I see Is terrible. Don’t know why anyone would watch that when there’s so many better ways to spend time

I guess you could also make a thread that is a list of things you could better spend your time doing than watching WWE

It could happen. After the Dumont era it took a long time for wrestling to get popular to the point of a national promotion. I could a few years after Vince passes that WWE is sold to ESPN or Fox or Amazon for content and the live aspect could possibly die out completely at some point. I could then see a period of time where there is no major promotion until, there is.

No.
Lucha Underground did try to Thanos itself during its last season with the whole Matanza murdering a bunch of LU guys but that somehow led to Jake Hager and Wade Barrett revealing themselves to be possessed by evil spirits or were evil spirits disguised as regular people. Now that I think back, LU was pretty weird at times but was still packed with quality entertainment during the few years it was around. |

Its really good.
The general consensus online is the first two seasons are the best, Season 3 is a mixed bag, and Season 4 is pretty good. |

WWE as the head and body of wrestling will die. Wrestling itself will die.
The UFC will slowly begin seeing more and more suspicious fights. Fighters will branch off into other federations that have less scrutiny and more and more fixes. The UFC will get smaller and smaller until it as the head and body of MMA dies. The fighting aspect of MMA will be replaced by an entertainment based version of it by the fighters that came from the fighters who actually fought. MMA will die. Wrestling will return. |

I think the WWE should get everyone on their roster over 40 and put them on a show. Either a new one or Raw. Then use their main programming, or just SmackDown, to get over guys under 40.
If they sent everyone in that age bracket to Raw, you could do a Raw vs. NXT program to get that stuff heated up. You have the inherent issues of guys that have been around for quite a while going against guys that haven't been seen much at all, and you can foster in a whole bunch of new guys. But you could do that anyway, it just gets so clunky when your show has about eight different agendas. If you've just got Jeff Hardy putting over guys on Monday and/or Wednesday, you don't need to dedicate time to him on the same show you are trying to get Matt Riddle over on. Any other US promotion might as well not exist. |
