Sweet.... really enjoyed the first one despite not being familair with League of Legends, its world, or its characters.... will have to rewatch it before this one to remind myself of everything....
Apparently while this is being billed as "the final chapter" it doesn't mean the end of Arcane... as apparently there are other worlds and characters from the game that they can tell stories about... On the one hand, I'm ok with not stretching something out and just telling a nice concise story with a definite end... but on the other, if you're gonna make more, I want the characters/story/world that I know... |

The second season has started. It is being released in three-episode batches over the next few weeks.
I need to rewatch season 1 (again) before starting this awesomeness. Last edited by El Vaquero de Infierno; 11-13-2024 at 01:49 PM. |

I binge-watched season 1 over the last couple of days. Still awesome.
I'm probably going to leave season 2 for either Xmas or to see through the new year. |

I couldn't wait until Xmas and I watched season 2 over the past few days.
For me, the second season does not touch the first, which was marvellous. Everything in the second season feels rushed, with too many storylines and not enough time taken to flesh out what is going on. In some ways, it reminds me of the second season of Rome, when they essentially crammed 2-3 seasons worth of stories into one. It is the same with Arcane season 2. Character development is either undeveloped or discarded, and as a result the emotional weight of actions and consequences that were one of the first season's strengths is missing. Overall, I was kind of disappointed. |

I would also say that over-stylised fight scenes were prioritised over story.
