Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Damn. Looks so much better than the upcoming GoT spinoff and def better than that reject D&D movie from the 90's.

So is there like a 5 minute scene where they discuss trying to go through a door?

Kinda unfair. It was both a product and a victim of its time.

Especially in the EFX department. But I also judge Fist of the North Star on the same weighted scale compared to a lot of live action anime adaptations that came years/decades after that. And even though I understand one of the cool things to do is shit on Marlon Wayans just because he's not Keenan Ivory Wayans (read: the only member of the family to make a decent career of being in movies), he wasn't really bad in it either.

I sort of feel like it ended up in the same boat as Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within where the D&D name helped drag it down with some sort of expectations in the heads of the fandom on top of coming out *just* before it became cool to publicly admit you play/run tabletop campaigns. The "shitty" CGI, while not exactly aging well, was pretty on par with movies that had a massive volume of money poured into them like The Matrix or soon to be with Lord of the Rings.
