Do you actually gice a shit about women's wrestling?
Its not a misogynistic thing ...theres just no appeal for me. They are not believable, far too pretty, and more like circus performers. They are so practiced and deliberate.
Their personalities have no appeal, Their storylines and personal issues are not interesting in the least. Eye candy yes, anything else is just bland. Is womens wrestling more about serving the woke masses or actually a draw? What do you think? Come down to my dungeon..eh...I'll stretch the feck out you Only legends know..ehhh.. |

Yes. Before I stopped watching I was far more interested in the women's division than the men's.
At the Royal Rumble I enjoyed the women's match a whole lot more than the men's. (Aside from the men's final battle between Cody and Gunther, which was way better an end than the women's had) |

This sums up most wrestlers in general for me nowadays.

But also womens wrestling not having the history and stars from past eras that the men do to use as a bridge to the current generation is even more of a handicap. They’ve gotta be built from the ground up in an era where wrestling is less popular than ever. And forcing womens matches into main event spots before the hype actually warrants it only does it a disservice.

Not really, no. Just not my preference, but I also don't hate it. It has an audience so I can sit through it.

But to answer the question, yes, I do care. Women’s wrestling owes a lot to a lot of pioneering women, but when I think of WWE in particular, I always reach the conclusion that had it not been for A.J. Lee’s viral tweet to Stephanie McMahon about when she was finally going to do something about treating the women on the roster at the same level as their male superstar counterparts, the whole womrn’s evolution turned women’s revolution either never happens or the company just ignores the issue and no progress gets made for at least 5—10 years. |

This is my answer too, genuinely. A good story and good ring work will keep me invested regardless of gender.
Women's wrestling generally seems worse/more of an afterthought so it's tough to care about it as much. But it's not like women come on and I just check out of the show by default. Haven't since the days of divas being a blatant piss break at least. |

It was better when they had their little 3 minute match, showed some hoots and called it a day

I agree with Vito. I am not against women's wrestling, if something is good, then I care. Becky's had a better and more interesting run over the last 5 years than most of the men in that profession. Britt Baker is so good on the mic that I pay attention whenever she talks. Buzzsaw Asuka is always a fun match to watch.

AJW fascinates me and gains power because it is women who can really work to who they are. I was into the Knockouts when they emerged in TNA when Dutch had the book. I’ve cared about Victoria, Mickie James and Trish Stratus.
If someone comes along and is interesting, I’ll probably be interested. Rhea Ripley seems to be one of the few stars they are creating. Bianca Belair is rough around the edges but is impressive and a star they have committed to. That’s cool. I don’t like how they jam the same gimmick for women onto both shows. Two Rumbles and two MITBs on the same show feels so diluted. The idea should be, in my opinion, to have gimmicks that actually fit the women. Work to their actual strengths. If you HAVE to do the same gimmicks, at least space them out throughout the year so they don’t step on each other. In theory, a Women’s Royal Rumble in July or whatever could generate a bit of excitement, close out a PPV and maybe help everything overall. I see the criticism that a lot of the women are rushed, possibly because of cosmetic or marketing reasons, are too dainty or green, and therefore there’s this huge gulf in the division. Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss is like doing Steve Austin vs. Bobby Walker. I’m not the invested in wrestling at all right now. I prefer wrestling to feel organic and like a sport. Glossy presentations and the rah-rah marketing behind the women, while I get it, feels like it misses the strengths of what the women could be. There’s potential to revisit some of wrestling greatest moments by taking the psychology that made them work and running them through this gendered lens and ironically turning male domination of the West into a strength for them. For example, Becky Lynch reminding people of Steve Austin in 2019 was not as annoying as a male wrestler being fitted to the template. |

Women's wrestling is shit. Impact Wrestling has the best women's division around but it's still not great. WWE has the biggest stars but they're held back by the rest of the women in WWE that are complete shit. AEW tried but all their women are shit. Women's wrestling is slower and therefore prone to seeing the faults in pro wrestling.

Also none of you give a shit about any wrestling that isn't WWE. Some might give AEW a look but nothing else. No one on here cares about Impact, NJPW, MLW, GCW, or NWA.

Some of the best wrestling matches from regular old raw n smackdown during 2002 and onwards were the women's matches. Mostly because they were not so scripted snd there was a certain amount of individual freedom still allowed for them to shine.

Honestly since NJPW started courting western audiences there's nothing i like left. Misawa's death was another big blow to the content i enjoy...really miss the days when NOAH/New Japan/RoH were all on fire. Around that time SD! Was pretty hot too...good times. NWA is probably the product i like the most today...its not great though.

I liked parts of the women's chamber more than the men's. If they didn't rush through the ending eliminations I could have very well given it the nod as the best chamber match of the night.

It's the "onwards" that makes this statement not true. WWE bringing in more eye candy, potential reality TV stars, and office fuck buddies as opposed to women who really want to give wrestling an honest try started happening, and we would eventually get to the point where we had those 6 vs 6 clusterfuck pissbreak tag matches just to get 12 girls to appear on one segment of a show at the same time, and only maybe 3 to 5 of them ever actually participate in said match. The rest are just on the apron to "look cute" and pretend they're waiting to get tagged in. There was the sweet spot in TNA where the women eventually mattered more than most of the men, which apparently chapped some asses. |

When thinking back, I cared about the women’s stuff way more than I remembered. It was very rarely the thing I cared MOST about, with Trish vs. Mickie at WrestleMania 22 being the exception, but I cared about things like Trish vs. Victoria.

As much as I like Trish/Mickie from WM 22, I do have to wonder if it’s perhaps more remembered for a certain infamous moment than the match itself.

I was excited for the build. Granted, 2006 was a particular angsty year for me, so the lesbian psycho story would have ticked a box. Or licked it. But I also thought the rest of the card felt wrong.
