Kushida
I have to seriously question his decision to sign with NXT/WWE.
He is the same size as Kenta, but older than Kenta was at the time of his signing. What makes Kushida think he will have any kind of success in NXT before getting stuck on 205 Live? And forget any kind of main roster run. If Shinsuke got buried with everything be brings to the table, I don't see any Japanese wrestler ever getting any kind of success on the main roster. Bad decision to sign with WWE in my opinion. |

I totally agree. I don’t see the positive for either side here.

I can see him be very successful in NXT but agree on his main roster success is going to be a lot more limited solely due to Vince and Creative there.
Him leaving NJPW made sense though since he was very frustrated at NJPW for both not being willing to promote him out of the Jrs division and not listening to his ideas to freshen up his career there. Maybe if AEW actually existed, him going there would have been the better option since it seems he never considered the idea of going to ROH or Impact for non-WWE companies with notable tv coverage. |

The problem with KUSHIDA is that he has zero charisma, his gimmick is ridiculous but he somehow makes showing up to the arena in a DeLorean dressed as Marty McFly or blowing up a child seem so mundane. Fantastic bell to bell guy but it's very hard to get interested in him as a character and I think that's why New Japan wouldn't move him up to heavy, he doesn't have the big personality to compensate for his size.
Seems like he wanted to try his luck elsewhere because they wouldn't let him move up and WWE currently want to sign every wrestler in existence (except Chuck Taylor) seemingly just so nobody else can have them. Maybe he will find a character than works for him while at the PC, his English is apparently a lot better than Nakamura's but with him not being much of a promo guy in Japanese I'm not sure what that's worth. |
