R-Truth's standing in WWE
R-Truth has been in this company for a while. And never has he been a Main Event player. I think it speaks volumes that Vince McMahon came out to R-Truth's mini show and danced with him.
Is R-Truth the most over guy backstage in this company? I really think he is. Vince has to love this guy to do that dance bullshit on R-Truth's show. Ron Killings might be the most over guy in this company. It dont matter who did what to who at this point. The fact is, we went to war. And now there aint no going back. It's what war is you know? Once you're in it, you're in it. If it's a lie, then we fight on that lie, but we gotta fight! |

And by the way, I dont mind this. I want Ron Killings to have a massive push in the Main Event. This guy is in incredible shape. He's a great worker. He deserves it.

He had a main event push once against Cena at Capitol Punishment in 2011 or whenever.

Vince loves shucking and jiving African Americans, just like he loves evil foreigners. Booker T is STILL the only 100% African American to win a singles world title in Vince's company, unless you count Lashleys ECW Title as a world title run, which you shouldnt cause WWE doesnt.
R-Truth fits the role Vince has in his head of a stereotypical black man character. As long as Truth accepts that role and doesn't make waves, he has a job. |

I think Nakamura and the US title is perfect for R-Truth to take. I'm not saying he takes it for ever, but Nakamura can put him over big time right now and then take the title back in a 3-4 month feud. It's perfect and they wont do it.

Then again, I am basing that on the fact R-Truth has been with the company for a decade now and not really done that much for someone that's been there that long. And also this photo: |

Mark Henry won a world title right? So him and Booker the only two African Americans to win a company acknowledged world title?

The Rock and Bobby Lashley as well. The ECW World Title was considered a World Title, regardless of what we think, until Morrison got it in 2007. They put Bobby Lashley in at least one match that was between former World Champions (I believe it was a five-way between him John Cena, Mick Foley, Booker and Randy Orton -- I think it was at Night of Champions actually).

Truth has been really great in a comedy role while also avoiding the same pitfalls other comedy characters have dealt with in the WWE. Santino was arguably the best comedy character WWE had since the Attitude Era ended but his shtick would get old every so often because he was almost constantly on tv. Same for the New Day and their gags getting stale after a while due to their weekly presence.
Truth's shtick has managed to stay refreshing because he rarely stays on tv for long stretches of time. |

R-Truth is pretty fucking annoying. Good on the guy for having a career as long as he has. Who would have thought fucking K-Kwik would go on to become a guy they would eventually put in their token black Hall of Fame spot one day? Or work The Rock's first match back with the company in 7 years, for that matter?
I've taken up for R-Truth in the past. He's never had a great match or cut a truly great promo. He's been solid in the ring at times and is a good little soldier. As a babyface he does the parrot stuff that they think is great for warming up crowds. He was actually an interesting heel in 2011. At the time I thought they weren't sure how long they could get out of him, but here he is, another 7 years later. The dude is 46 years old. He's almost as old as Triple H. He still looks phenomenal. For a guy with problems in his past, he's clearly overcome a lot and worked hard. I understand why they keep a spot for him. And you can tell by the "comedy" they have him do (fucking Pretty Ricky and the current shitty dance break stuff), his outmoded sense of humor pops Vince. He's a reminder of the longevity you can have by being a cog in the machine. Plus the dude has 5 kids, so Vince probably thinks of him as a virile young man. That being said -- I have absolutely no interest or desire in seeing much more of the guy or watching a collection of the dude's work. He's a good story and maybe I'd actually check out a documentary on the guy's life and struggles. So far it seems to be a happy story. |

The whole roster, as well as the referees and other staff, all walked out during an episode of Raw that time in 2011 because R-Truth (and The Miz) were causing too much trouble. Or something like that.

If you have a spare fifteen minutes to kill, then these videos show you want happened.
If not, then I'll put it all in a nutshell for you: The Miz & R-Truth were going around attacking everyone which left the WWE roster, referees, announcers, cameramen and photographers, all scared to come to work. They all submitted a vote of "No Confidence" in Triple H as COO and then they all walked out on him at the end of an episode of Raw. |

But Booker T had nothing to do with it. He just had to go to the bathroom.

If only the WWE would have kept recognizing the ECW Championship as a world title.

Lol, remember when Undertaker won the 2007 Royal Rumble and they treated the ECW Title as a serious possibility for contention? They didn't do that after that.

And then he lost the ECW Championship to Kane in 8 seconds at WM XXIV, the fastest WM match in history until Rock defeated Erick Rowan in 6 seconds 8 years later at WM XXXII.

Yeah! Kane seemed quite elated to win the strap. It was quite a substantial gap in-between his two major championship victories.

Interestingly, PWI recognized the ECW Championship as a "world title" only from July 6, 1999 to April 11, 2001. Also, they haven't recognized the Impact World Championship as such since June 29, 2015.

It achieved absolutely nothing. Ezekiel Jackson did absolutely nothing on Raw after ECW and then once he was traded to SmackDown, he was part of The Corre but even as a part of that he didn't do much and then he won the Intercontinental Championship but only held it for 51 days, during which he only defended it twice. After that, he became a fully fledged jobber. |
