Split on the finish to Moxley v Cage. It was good match and Cage came out of it looking great. But I feel like they failed at getting over the idea that Cage wasn't going tap as the match was happening so that when Moxley kept him in those arm bars Taz throwing in the towel knowing he was a stubborn bastard who'd end up getting himselfhurt because he wouldn't tap.
With that, Darby v Cage should be fun. And I think Mike's rise to the main event is on the horizon. |

He recently showed up on the debut episode of NJPW's new Lions Break series and has another match on the show in a couple of weeks. |

What's wrong with the throwing in the towel finish? Pretty realistic finish isn't it?

I think the Horsemen revival will be Cody, FTR, and Hangman Page.
I think MJF starts a stable with himself, Wardlow, Shawn Spears (who is betrayed by Tully) and another (maybe Kenny). |

I really enjoyed the 6 man tag, as well as FTR Vs Lucha Bros.

While Cody's recent booking with the open challenge has been kinda eh, Coach Arn Anderson is a delight. Love him offering in-depth scouting notes on Sonny Kiss and the like.

In terms of the many "oh, I wasn't expecting to ever see/hear this" things in AEW, JR casually shifting between gender pronouns for a wrestler who is comfortable with both is up there. Neat.

JR is largely known as a gigantic dick to many in the community, but he really does seem to try with the talent. In that sense, I respect him.

Yeah, when AEW started I had a really bad feeling he was gonna say something really cringe about Sonny or Nyla Rose but he's been a true pro.

Good that Darby is back. Really short on decent faces at the moment if they intend to move forward with whatever combo of Cody/Page/Kenny turning heel. Kinda got them all acting heelish so not sure what they’re going with there.
Obviously they’re doing something with Tully, Cody and FTR. But then Hangman drinking with FTR, but also Kenny heeling it up. Would’ve thought Kenny would be staying face if all the others turn. Kinda just left with Mox and Darby then as your upper faces, plus Kenny I guess if he stays face. Heels there’ll end up being Jericho, Archer, Cage, Brodie Lee, MJF, Cody and Hangman if they turn, PAC whenever he returns. Whichever way they do it, it’s a bit unbalanced. |

Lol have they always had Ivelisse or just got her recently? Cause if they’ve always had her, why has she not been at the top of the women’s card?

I love Jericho but him going on about the ratings is cringe. There's just no need for this. Focus on your own show.

Loved Jericho pointing out that Kenny keeping his shirt on meant he was underestimating his opponent. He did the same thing in Japan and Naito usually keeps his shirt on for the multi-man tags as well.

Me constantly talking about how I want AEW to invest more into bringing in talent for the women's division and them seemingly doing it but going with Ivelisse is a real monkey's paw moment.

Main was alright. A pretty good brawl that made both guys look good.
I get what they were trying to do with the finish but it still felt like a cop-out brought on from rushing Cage to a title match when they really didn't need to. |

Darby being back is great though. Cage is gonna ragdoll the fuck outta him and it'll be fun to see. Hopefully it's MJF's time to step up to Mox next.
Good show, think I liked it more than night 1 of Fyter Fest but not night 2. Either way though I've really enjoyed all three shows. |

Annoying dick bag heel Omega is the best Omega. Him and the Bucks going heel on Hangman is the way to go. I've said it before, but I'd love for them to turn Omega on Page the way Flair turned on Sting against Arn and Pillman. Gets the hot tag, hits the ropes and v triggers Page into oblivion.

Thinking about the finish some more RE: them painting themselves into a corner.
It felt like the storyline had been written backwards. The FTW belt shouldn't have just been a vanity belt introduced for no reason - it should have been brought in after a screwy finish to Moxley vs. Cage. Cage effectively saying that the champ couldn't really beat him, so the FTW title is his way of saying that he's the deserving champion, and fuck anyone who thinks otherwise. That way you get Moxley able to move on to the next challenger, while giving Cage and Taz reason to stay in his rear-view mirror for a future rematch. At the moment, it's a one and done. Moxley and Cody's programs have followed the same type of pattern where it feels like they're booking like Jerry Lawler in Memphis fighting a revolving door of heels who will move to another territory after. But Cage/Archer/Brodie/Hager are all under contract and not going anywhere. Yet they all struck out in their first opportunity (and in Hager's case, his first opportunity at two separate belts). At least they sent Cage straight into his next program with Darby so that's an improvement from the others, but still. For as much as I enjoy AEW they still haven't yet mastered booking a longer-term program between two wrestlers. |

What I think is going to happen is we are going to get a big 3 Way on Dynamite where Mox pinns Darby leaving Cage still with the argument that Mox has never pinned Cage so they will do another but bigger blow off match with Mox and Cage maybe on TV but probably at All Out 2. |

Seems they have a real fear of running feuds quickly into the ground like WWE which was also something NXT usually shied away from until around 2 years ago. The other option is to pull off NJPW's style for feud hoping and keeping feuds in an entangled web but they've been hit-or-miss trying to pull that off. |

Also doesn't mesh well with the "wins and losses do matter". Didn't they bring in cage as his first "real" match being against Moxley?
They surely have some bugs to work out, but I still enjoy what is put on TV more than any other wrestling product today. |

The rankings thing is a great idea in concept because it ensures every match matters and feels important to some extent. You can have a theowaway match to fill time without it feeling throwaway.
But it only works if you stay on top of it and make sure everything makes sense. AEW could definitely be doing a better job of that. |
