What really matters ?
In looking at the wrestling industry as a whole im thinking about what matters to
Casual vs dedicated fans, and is the effort best put to the casual market or the dedicated market. In my estimation the casual fan wants entertainment and excitement whereas the dedicated fan wants depth, excellence in craftsmanship and judges the product with a keen eye. But...where is the bulk of the money coming from? A quick answer would be the casual fan however the dedicated fans are the ones who saw wrestling through its darker days. Questions become apparent: 1. Whom should the product be skewed towards? 2. Ringwork and effort vs entertainment and thrill? 3. Is wwe doing the right things to attract the casual fan or are they just alienating the dedicated fans? 4. Is personality and character a better investment than taking bumps? Come down to my dungeon..eh...I'll stretch the feck out you Only legends know..ehhh.. |

The answer is the midcard is for the dedicated and the mainevent is for the casual. The issue is the neckbeards riot if you don't push their flavor or the week; high jacking shows all willy nilly. The problem compounds by the fact the people they jizz over arent actually over so when the office listens to them the guy can hold the torch without getting burned by it.
Or worse he does get over in which case the cannibalize him cause...reasons |

I don't even think the dedicated watches with a keen eye. In some ways, they don't watch keenly enough. They'll skip over things that turn casual audiences off the product, because they don't have the perspective to see outside what they want. It doesn't matter to them if you can see through everything, so in their mind it doesn't matter to anybody. Hardcore fans have lower standards. In my opinion. Casuals feel stupider way earlier and switch that shit off. They're not going to stick with it through thick and thin. And I think you'll find most wrestling fans -- people who have actually been a fan at some point -- are just not anymore. |

The “top guys” these days don’t draw. Cena was fine but not transcendent by any means and Roman is talented but kind of a chump when it comes to being an actual attraction. |
