Do you still own physical media?
And do you still routinely purchase new physical media? Music, games, film whatever.
Im firmly in the physical camp. Massive book cases seperated by films together and movies together and then alphabetized. Games are by system then RPG and Non RPG. Books are by fiction and non fiction. Anime has its own shelf. Wrestling ive stored my vhs collection after converting a lot over. Kept the tapes though. They seem...like history in some way. Would feel wrong to junk them. I had always collected. Got rid of a ton of stuff when the dvd shift happened and have spent some time repurchasing a lot of stuff. With the digital age though obviously thats going away. A lot of films dont ever get released physically. I searched for years for Charlie Kaufman's "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" physically. Googling every so often to see if it finally was going physical. Finally found a copy of an Oscar screener of the film on ebay last month. Absurd. Anyways i imagine most people either threw out their physical collections or sold them off. Im expecting 99% to say "nearly nothing" but im curious all the same. |
