If they price it over $100, it'll fail hard. They still have some work to do on the cloud gaming front. Maybe because I'm used to a clear, crisp experience, and cloud gaming is topped at 1080p, but most often resembles trying to watch a video on dial up.




I've used the "play now" feature of Game Pass to play games before I download them to see if it's something I wanna play.


I would imagine they have this data as well...... but there are still a LOT of areas without high-speed internet available. Verizon is kinda getting there with the 5G hotspots serving as an entire home's connection, but that still needs work as well before it can be as "reliable" as the copper//fiber standard.


Interesting for sure. A much cheaper entry into gaming, even more so when consoles are still harder to come by than normal.

I used xcloud for a while and even on 5g and really strong wifi connections, it wasn't quite there yet. Certainly playable mind you, even quite enjoyable, but Id never choose it over hard installation in the state its in.

Even with a fiber wired connection, it sucks dude. That's how my shit is set up in my main room.

Website says they've got one at my local Best Buy.

Figured I'd swing by at lunch since it's close by, bigass sign out front saying "PS5 not available at this store".

Went in, asked if there was really one in stock, showed them the site and got looked at like I had 3 heads. They go back to "check" anyway. Nope. Walked out PS5-less.

So the site's either wrong, out of date, or the staff set them aside for their buddies. Ah well.

Honestly would rather just buy one through Amazon anyway, years of people giving me Amazon gift cards when I barely online shop have made it so that I can pay for like 90% of the cost of getting one.

Maybe. I mean, I've heard tales of how fast consoles sell out online when just about anyplace with a site where they can be purchased online via whatever place's website lists any at all in stock. I'm quite willing to admit I could be wrong about what happened in your particular circumstance though.

Employees were either incompetent or assholes.......or both.

The funny thing is I got the official Sony invite 2 days after I got mine with my dedicated link and time I could purchase. Oh well!
