If they make it a spy thriller black widow could be good. Budget needs to be lower though. Film could tank.

I think now is a likely time for a drop in interest after so many hits and a well concluded story. The films are going to make money anyway, I just think a couple of the storylines are bound to start off as unsatisfactory and end up improving after the creative get together and fix the flaws or do whatever they did after Incredible Hulk, Thor 2, Age Of Ultron and presumably what they will do with the unappealing Captain Marvel to make people actually like her and not just the franchise she is in.

The 20+ film streak can only last as long as people feel committed to seeing it through.
After Endgame they need to give people a damned good reason to spend that much money again and I don't see it happening without a misstep here or there.

Fixing errors of judgement improves the end result.

Anyone remember when Scarlett Witch was Russian? They knocked that on the head damned sharp.

I kinda sorta agree that the MCU will very likely have blow to it's quality in Phase 4. I dunno if it'll be Black Widow, I think Eternals may not pan out. The big Phase 1 risk was Thor and the risk in Phase 2 was Guardians. But these properties were always cool - just a bit out there among the other MCU films of their respective phase.

Eternals is just not 'cool'. Great for Marvelphiles in terms of mythology but let's be real; It's a so-so New Gods. It's not 'catchy'. To be fair MCU has turned nobodies into box office hits before... but the last time I felt exactly like this was Inhumans. Didn't believe in the movie, didn't believe in the show.

It's the MCU's first real flop. Movie canceled, show bombed.

TV is meaningless.


Antman. Theres something thats flopped. Its not likelly we get a solo antman film again. Possible but unlikely. Team ups are probably his future.


Phase 4 will be pretty cold though. They have to rebuild from here.

As an odd experiment of sorts, Thor Love & Thunder is not just happening to be the last movie of Phase 4, it will be a finale of the phase the way Avengers movies tend to be in a story telling sense.

Spider-Man has been cut out of the MCU due to Sony and Disney not being able to come to an agreement on how to work together. There might be a chance things work out, but they're at an impasse right now.

Being that Disney produced two successful Spidey movies and on principle Spider-Man is Marvel's to begin with Sony should have went with whatever they wanted.

More reasonable offer would be let sony make movie tie in merch. Full toy line. Whole nine. Strict time window for manufacturing/retail. Sony takes full or at least 80% depending on cross over characters in the film. Then disney can have 30ish% of the back end but disney ponies on 50% of the production.


Disney pays 80 mil sony pays 80 mil. Disney takes around 300 mil off the next film. Sony loses 25% off their last haul but if they can move the merch they stand to make double. Everyone makes more than they were making going in.



Come back in 5-7 and take the temperature from there.


50/50 no merch? Yeah right. Thatll never happen and anyone dumb enough to pen that deal would be fired in a week. Only Disney wins in that offer. Its a ridiculous ask especially when you dont actually hold the cards.

Disney is walking away from 50 million. Thats what they took from the past 2 films. Its the adjacent branded properties they sell that they can make money off of. Shows, merch, games, etc


Still 50 mil will finance half a production of another title so its better than nothing i suppose

I'd not be shocked if Disney just ended up with the whole Spider-Man franchise under their control in the end. Sony doesn't have any more good ideas for it anymore, and it's time for Spidey to move on to much greener pastures.

Rumors indicate that disney will get 25% of the cut and the production costs are split 50/50. Disney will get no control of additional IPs. Other than disney not giving sony any merchandizing i was pretty spot on. Disney over bid, and then caved.

It also appears that spidey will be appearing in the sony spidey-verse more as time goes on as well. Currently spidey 3 and one unannounced mcu appearance is all thats agreed on though

I read some "newz" awhile back that said Disney had "lost faith" in Captain Marvel and wanted to put Spider-Man in her next movie in an effort to try to get Captain Marvel to be more "likeable" via interactions with Spidey.....
