Rate the Game: Week 110
Damn. Week 110 already. You ready to dive into this bad boy? I sure am. It's one of my favorite things to do in the week. We've got business that needs attending so attending to the business we shall do. How did last week's Silent Hill 3 come out? Not a lot of game time among the TPWW Universe, which is kind of a running trend with that franchise. I wonder why I even bothered putting them into the pile. Anyway, cue the leaderboard....
So it earns itself a nice hefty 4.5 average but I'm thinking of revoking it due to only 2 people playing it and handing it a score. I'll leave it up for now unless I've got a good amount of people pressuring me to take it out of contention. Maybe I can alter the requirements to having at least 3 people scoring on a game. If it's not a bother, well it can stay up. Something for you to ponder over, I suppose. But that's not all you'll need to ponder this week. The bowl is here and ready to give us this week's game! What are we working with this time around? The bowl has spoken! This week we take a gander at some GTA-esque shenanigans as our 110th game is Saints Row! How does this wacky romp pay off for you, if at all? It kicked off a pretty well sustained franchise but does it have the chops to rank as one of the best? Let's do this shit as we look to next week and start the countdown to the final 15! Until next week! No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes... ...again. |

3. I didn't find it offensively bad and I feel there's enough mindless fun to be had to warrant that rating.

"Clone" being used as a derogatory term in gaming has never really sit well with me. You can't copyright game mechanics/concepts so you can't blame other developers from wanting to take a stab at something. It's a question of do they put enough of a unique spin on things and does it play well. "Doom clone" and "Tomb Raider clone" were the two biggest terms always being thrown out but those games were good so I wouldn't see the problem in another game playing just like them. If the "clone" failed miserably, that'd be one thing, but a lot of genres wouldn't be where they are today without trying new things with one basic concept.

Yep, Driver 1 and 2 were on PS1, then there was Driv3r (yes, that's how they spelled Driver 3) and Driver: Parallel Lines (PL was also on Nintendo Wii) on PS2 and XBOX, Driver ’76 on PSP and Driver: San Francisco on PS3, Wii and 360.

LOL, this one was looking to swoop in and take that last place spot from Ghosts n' Goblins. Guess it resonated well enough with some of y'all. I never gave it a whirl, even though The Diva would rant and rave about it. I think this was the game. This one had the Fart in a Jar, right?
