Beat the Fire Giant. Took 10-15 tries or so. Fun fight though, did not mind getting stomped. Had him at like | | one my 2nd try by then splosions happened.


Crumbling Farum Azula is...... gorgeous. The gigantor tornado, the fucking dragon I had to kill...... and then I ran outta time like TNA.

I did find that big ass dragon. Found him before going the right way, actually. Had him down to 1 fucking hit and he teleported then swiped me. I'll go back for him soon.


I am getting trounced by the Elden Beast at this time. I can get through the 1st phase without too much damage, but the beast man. Figure its the last boss of the game, at least it makes sense for it to be.


Killed Mohg too. This game has some of the coolest looking bosses man, seriously.


Ill give the beast a few more go's. Wanna do NG+ so I wanted to leave SOMETHING unseen in there.




By far, the coolest fight for me was Godfrey, when he Hulked up into Ulitmate Warrior. Wasn't even mad the first time he kicked me into the air and then powerbombed me from the sky.


10/10 this god damn game. Give me more, give me a fucking infusion man.

That was one of the best fights ever.




Also, that bitch placidusax has been felled. As usual, came down to the last sliver of health and he started with his apocalyptic fuckery. I had no heals left and not enough HP to survive one hit. I went for a jumping strike and had a near miss with his claw that was tekken hit-box-porn-esque to vanquish him. Almost yelled in victory, but my daughter was in class and I had to hold it in.




God damn his sword though


I have a masoleum down and will go get the incantation from him too, sounded awesome. That boss, the atmosphere, everything about it was so damn cool. 10000/10

I think one of the coolest attacks in the game is where he slams his lightning bolt into the ground and then hammers down on top, creating a giant red lightning explosion.

Man, they presented Placidusax like he was the end game boss man. I mean, the cut scene, the way they did everything with it. The music changes, the fucking atmosphere, good lord.


When he gets low on health and starts breathing fire with both heads, while pillars of red lightning are beaming down, he's still calling other lightning down and teleporting around. Good god man.


This game and Nier Automata do bosses better than any other game I've played.






UPDATE!!!!


Castle Sol has been conquered. The snowfield after is a motherbitch. Ended up getting to the Haligtree though, which looks SO cool. Really tough place, don't wanna imagine what's at the end of it, hehe.

MASSIVE patch yesterday buffed nearly any FAITH... things. Faster casting, unbreakable casting stance and MOAR.


Seriously, there's a lot.




BIG BONK WEAPONS got buffffffffffed. Faster swings, MOAR DOTS.




Elden Lord has become my target. So funny though, sometimes Radadon goes down like a chump, other times he fucking obliterates me. There was one attempt where he was down in about 20 seconds..... but BIG SAME on the receiving end too.


Gotta practice this fight like I did my first Nergigante encounter on Monster Hunter World. On that topic, I feel like that game really conditioned me for this one. Elden Ring feels like it a LOT when battling the big bosses. Some of the weapons even have similar play styles. Started using a thrusting/piercing greatsword (Placidusax) and Great Shield and it plays like a Lance from MHW.


Malikeths blade is funnnnnnnnnnnnn.


Level 130 - gonna keep banging my head against the elden beast until one of us falls. Then I'll fuckin do it again.

Getting closer. Fully upgraded Maliketh's Colossal sword. I had the Elden Beast down to ~25%.


Man, Radadon was NOT having it yesterday. I dunno what it was, but he was 10000% more aggressive than I've ever seen him, and I've done this fight quite a few times now.


Even with my son watching, he said "well, guess he was just done with you and your crap today".


At which point, it was time to play Battlefield V.

I needed to be better. forgot I could block with a 2H. That made Radagon too easy.


Was having a bad day so I decided to be hyper aggressive at the elden beast....... and it worked. Healed once.


In my excitement, I started NG+ without finishing the Haligtree of the Lake of Rot........kinda wanted to do those, so I'm almost to Altus Plateau on NG+

Ending was dumb AF - and nearly not there. Hoping that finishing Ranni's quest will change that, since it seemed that's what she's going for.


Burn it all down, fuck the fingers and their order. Give me DLC where we go after the order itself, and whoever the fingers belong to.

It is ridiculous how short this game is if you don't have to fuck with leveling up your character.


Already at Mountaintops of the Giants on my way to burn that mother down! I'm gonna stop though, and finish all the side stuff so Melina doesn't burn herself.

When I find another larval tear, I'm gonna go caster and pew pew things. I have some pretty badass sounding spells man. I have 1, but wanna be able to spec back.



Also, kinda fucking around with "fun" weapons, like the Grafted Dragon on mah fist. I have "found my groove" with this game and rarely die anymore, even in boss fights. Gonna level up the wolverine claws I found, put bloodhound step on them and kill stuff.



I've heard of what is at the end of the Haligtree, and I welcome Malenia (spelling). I plan on splattering her internal rot around the room of whatever we fight in.


That, of course, after I've thoroughly had my ass handed to me a few dozen times.


Some bosses don't know what to do if you dodge, and with others it's blocking. She'll be one or the other. Radagon took a combination of both, but when I worked out what to do when, he barely did any damage at all.


First..... Lake of Rot...... fucking hate that place.

Tried a caster build and going to assume I didn't do it right. Had the Sword of Night and Flame and a buncha sorceries.


Didn't know you have to use a staff for sorceries - gay. So I'm going STR/DEX/ARC to be an evil focker in bigly yuge armor. Took down the giant pot invaders, so I can wear the entire Veterans set with a colossal weapon. The ability to keep swinging while being hit and NOT have your stance break is incredible. Instead, they die in a few hits or get stance broken themselves and THEN die from a crit.


Still not giving up on my dual whip build. The fire giant whip is super fun and Hoslow's will be good for bleed. I've mucked around with them for a bit, but not done anything "serious" with it. It will be good.



Swatted the Fire Giant away like a tiny bug. I will probably play this game for an inordinate amount of time.

Also, made it back to the Haligtree and stomping my way through there (seriously, Regal Roar on a fully upgraded Axe of Godfrey is brutal. I'm at the "base" of the Haligtree, and having to fight a lot of the games tougher enemies, but getting through it just fine so far.


Can't wait for the torture that will be Malenia.

The Haligtree is one of my favorites. It's challenging as fuck, but fair.


Malenia......


I was a few hits away from victory...... and the sacred Waterfowl Dance does indeed have a counter. I've noticed 3 moving parts......


1) She flies up into the air and delays for a moment. This is the hardest part for me to get through. The 1st attack she does when she comes down can stun (due to animation) which leaves you to be picked apart by.....


2) Gonna call this anime sword play. All's that's missing is some DBZ-like YA YA YA YA YA YA YA. Maybe more akin to Chun Li


3) Same as the 2nd, but a lil faster.




Point being - you can dodge INTO the 2nd and 3rd pieces of the dance, and she'll go right through you. Oh, and her poise is SHIT. You can stance break the bejesus out of her with a colossal weapon with little effort. Bleed is the way to go with her though, because of her heal mechanic. This helped a TON with the rot soldiers too. I would kill everything in Haligtree (except for the tree guardians and stuff) in 2-4 hits. The tower shield guards can block twice before being stance broken.


Dodging and colossal weapons is the way.



Man, Monster Hunter World is like this game, without the weird story and open world. A LOT of the mid to end-game fights there are incredibly similar. I think the biggest difference being it is MUCH harder to survive in Elden Ring, in an attempt to better learn the boss fights.


I will stand over her corpse before the weekend is over.

Seriously..... it was my 2nd attempt. I just got to her late last night. I will 100% have her beaten this weekend, shit.... before the end of tonight if I actually get the time to sit and try.





She had | | <-- that much left on her health bar in her 2nd phase. If I had a wee bit more stamina, I coulda kept swinging and had it done. The most problematic aspect of her fight is 100p in the 2nd phase and how quickly she inflicts rot. I have a few boluses left from Lake of Rot, but also keep a thing equipped to use Flame, Cleanse Me! which works just as well.


I keep Godfrey's+10 axe on me as primary, and a River of Blood +10 as a back up. She's also vulnerable to moves which "throw her in the air" a la Regal Roar from the axe. She's quite easy to stun lock in the 1st phase with minimal effort.
